A photo manipulation done in Photoshop. Manipulating images is something that I love enormously, sastisfying the need to create darker and more classic imagery, something that I don’t express in my paintings. I’m fascinated by images and how I can blend them to create something new. All images come from sxc.hu Links: http://www.sxc.hu/photo/433807 / http://www.sxc.hu/photo/426696 / http://www.sxc.hu/photo/911609. Sorry, I don’t know how to make a link here on RB. Thank you for the views and comments. Josette

I was having fun experimenting one night on our street as I loved how the lights reflected off the snow on our street, these log homes with big windows really allowed this scene to come out. Tried and tried over and over to give it that festive feeling around X-mas, anyhow, here`s the result.

Love can blow your mind and leave you seeing stars but its always your heart that takes the weight.

The cold earth slept below; / Above the cold sky shone; / And all around, / With a chilling sound, / From caves of ice and fields of snow / The breath of night like death did flow / Beneath the sinking moon. The wintry hedge was black; / The green grass was not seen; / The birds did rest / On the bare thorn’s breast, / Whose roots, beside the pathway track, / Had bound their folds o’er many a crack / Which the frost had made between. Thine eyes glow’d in the glare / Of the moon’s dying light; / As a fen-fire’s beam / On a sluggish stream / Gleams dimly—so the moon shone there, / And it yellow’d the strings of thy tangled hair, / That shook in the wind of night. The moon made thy lips pale, belov{e}d; / The wind made thy bosom chill; / The night did shed / On thy dear head / Its frozen dew, and thou didst lie / Where the bitter breath of the naked sky / Might visit thee at will. Digital Art: Created with Photoshop. Started with a blank “canvas”, selected a brush and started painting with the mouse. It took a while but the cold and snowy night is felt throughout the composition.

You might say this is all a head arrangement. The idea for this painting popped in my head this week so I decided to paint it before I lost interest in the idea. I used one of these out houses when I was a very young boy. When it would snow you would actually have to sweep the snow off the seat, speaking of freezing your butt off. But , we eventually modernized and put in a city slicker style bathroom in the house.
