This is Aireys Inlet Lighthouse, played around with a couple of programs to achieve this effect.
I was driving along a road in a seaside town at Jervis Bay National Park, just 2.5 hours south of Sydney Australia when I glimpsed this moon through some trees with a pathway of silver light across the water. A lucky moment, in that all the elements were there but tricky in putting them together because it was so dark I couldn’t see anything through the viewfinder and had to keep taking pics, viewing them on the LCD display and then moving the tripod to get the composition I wanted. / It looks to me like the trees on either side of the moon are partners about to dance onto the floor of some enchanted ballroom. / . / Please view large photo to appreciate panorama fully / . / This is a panorama taken on the same night of my other photos “Luna Over Luna Park”, ““By Request””, and “Luna Harbours”. The photos were taken in quite quick succession. I attempted to combine the full moon, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Luna Park. You might be interested in viewing the other photos because one is in Portrait, two are in Landscape, and this one PANORAMA. It’s amazing how a similar subject can be photographed in slightly different ways, and produce different results. I will interested in knowing which of the four is you favourite !

It fascinates me how creation myths and evolutionary thought seem to converge around the possibility of a spark such as this igniting life. / Taken off the “Balcony” – a beautiful section of coastal cliffs in Royal National Park just south of Sydney Australia during a spectacular storm. I’ve shot about half a dozen storms here this year. The others all drifted out to sea which made them nice and safe and easy to photo so I got lulled into a false sense of security with this one. It decided to head straight up to where I was photographing and at one stage I had to hide under a rock overhang with bolts going off all around – deeply scary but wouldn’t have missed it for anything – a magic night of biblical proportions I can tell you and one I’ll never forget. Seastorm off Bundeena Cliffs in Royal National Park just south of Sydney Australia. Taken using the brilliant Startrails Photoshop Action to blend 15 X 30sec identical exposures. You can download the Action from here: / http://www.schursastrophotography.com/software/photoshop/startrails.html If you view in Large mode you can see startrails between the clouds. Also the short horizontal light along the horizon is a fishing trawler. Funnily enough there was an average of only one lightning bolt per exposure. / I’ve now photographed 5 storms off these cliffs and the really curious thing I’ve noticed is that the lightning always seems to concentrate in the same places – here and about another 45 degrees to the right along the horizon. I know now that if I set my camera up here or at the other angle I’m always going to get the best lightning shots – weird or what? I would have thought the lightning strikes would be much more random than that.
Worth going to Larger for this one – heaps more stars. Storm off Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park. This shot has all my favourite elements in one image – the moon, stars, lightning, storm clouds, and ocean. What a treat this night was – getting some fantastic storms here. This is about the sixth I’ve photographed. There are two lightning cells here – the white one under the moon and the orange one off to the right of the main cloudbank. This is one shot in a continuous sequence of 100 I shot to create a startrails version. Unfortunately my computer is choking on processing that many 50mb files at once so may be delayed in posting the startrails version. The Flat Earth Society / “The facts are simple,” says Charles K. Johnson, president of the International Flat Earth Research Society. “The earth is flat.” He believes that the main purpose of the space program is to prop up a dying myth—the myth that the earth is a globe. “Nobody knows anything about the true shape of the world,” he contends. The sun and moon, in the Johnson version, are only about 32 miles in diameter. They circle above the earth in the vicinity of the equator, and their apparent rising and setting are tricks of perspective, like railroad tracks that appear to meet in the distance. The moon shines by its own light and is not eclipsed by the earth. Rather, lunar eclipses are caused by an unseen dark body occasionally passing in front of the moon. Johnson’s beliefs are firmly grounded in the Bible.

At last! We’ve had four brilliant storms through here in the last few weeks and I’ve missed each of them. Man these have been tricky buggers – short, very violent, straight overhead – and I’ve miss-timed them each time. The problem has been go out too early and the gear gets soaked and you can’t photograph anyway because of the rain. Leave it a few minutes tool late and that’s it – show’s over folks. / Three times I’ve gone tearing out as the rain eases off with huge, spectacular bolts going off all around and then when I get the tripod out EACH TIME (I kid you not) the moment the camera has gone on the tripod that’s it – the bolts stop dead. I have been teased mercilessly! But this time – gotcha! / This is a single exposure. Two bolts on either side and one overhead – doorway or what!! / And to get an idea of the scale of these bolts those lights off to the left are perched on top of 100m cliffs. Port Noarlunga Jetty. / South Australia. A combination of all my favourite techniques: / Wide angle, long exospure, HDR and night photography. Canon 50D. / 10-20mm (at 10mm) HDR – 3 Bracketed Exposures (up to 30 seconds) blended manually in CS3. It is probably the most photographed landmark of the channel island, and is known for its lovely panoramic views and the extreme tidal activity. Victorian engineer Sir John Coode is responsible for the design by which the lighthouse is built. It was the first lighthouse in the British Isles to be built of reinforced concrete and was lit for the first time on the 24th of April, 1874. The beam of light has a reach of 18 nautical miles. which is a brilliant distance. The lighthouse finally became automated in 1976 and was no longer manned.
