Acrylic on linen covered wood panel. Through all recorded memory folks have fished the rivers here at night for their large catfish. On summer nights the dancing lights of their fires and lanterns carry sounds and voices across still waters by a magic that does not survive the daylight. The “Night Fisher” here is one of many who try their luck about the deep waters of the James River near Big Island as it wends its way on towards Richmond and the sea.

Part Of my 2:14am Series Self Portrait It was 2:14am, I was on my way home but Had a slight craving for a smoke, I didn’t want to go home and waste the Amazing Misty night we were having so I went to the park round the corner. I don’t sleep so I stayed there for an hour or so, 20minutes of taking shots, 40 of just sitting, thinking about life and its incomprehensible way of functioning. He runs wild in my inner sanctum / I can feel him fleeting thru my veins / Sitting on the perch of my heart / Howls echo thru my diaphram / And fall victim to my rib cage / He runs wild in my inner sanctum… / He is the maverick / Which is my soul / He is wolf / He is I / He shares the same footprints / Sweat & tears …as I / The same skin that wraps around / The same twisted bones and aching muscles / And package the same undying heart / That like he / Howls a undying howl / That he wishes ....will one day be heard….. The wolf is like a mirror image of my soul….this is my favorite of the animal kingdom….for so many reasons…..He’s the reason why I have a huge affinity to long hair dogs that resemble him.
