Skipping Girl is a neon sign in Melbourne that is a bit of an icon. The company may have moved on but the sign was restored but it doesn’t actually work anymore. I thought I would take a picture of it with my new little P & S Nikon and then add the neon back. This is part of a series of different takes on Skipping Girl which is a bit pop artish and just fun to make.

Night walks can be very intriguing… This is the first time ever I’d see such moth… I didn’t modify colors through any programs.. this is as it was shot… What a beautiful color I find it has… :) HOw different… :)

I was spending the evening, for over an hour, shooting the sun as it settled into its usual position on the horizon. / ... / At the fifty-ninth minute my wife’s voice bellowed across the paddock “DINNER’S READY!!” / ... / I dragged the tripod behind me, and as I passed by the damn I turned to take a look at the sun disappearing …. and this view appeared. / ... / Needless to say, I was late for dinner. Beautiful and very unusual summer time sunset in Iroquois County Illinois-USA featuring a beautiful showing of Crepuscular Rays-those sunbeams you see streaming through clouds and those you see reaching to the sky at sunset. I’ve never seen one like this before and don’t know if I ever will again. Thanks to PigleT for the information regarding the Rays! Taken with a Nikon CoolPix5700

My sister wanted a prom dress that cost two hundred bucks and way back then that was a lot, it was for us two months rent! / My mother didn’t have it my father had just died! / So I rode my bike and did odd jobs to give her a big surprise! / I did all kinds of little jobs like cleaning out the stables and washing all the cars at church for the old and disable! / I did so many jobs that I forgot where to go and sometimes I got real mixed up and wound up miles away! / But when I had half the cash I took it to the store, and put it all on that dress before it disappeared! / I worked so hard every day and finally saw some light, because on my birthday my aunt gave me fifty dollars! / I took that right down the block to that nice new store and gave the lady all I had and strolled right out the door! / I had 3 more months to pay this off and then my big surprise! / I couldn’t wait to see my sisters face as I showed her my surprise. / One month to go of washing floors and all the school windows I can’t believe that its almost over cleaning them darn stables! / I’ll never wash another car and and empty someone’s garbage. / One week before the finish line and I need just twenty dollars more. / I can’t believe my luck today as I walk out the front door! / Right there before me on the ground much to my surprise, is twenty dollars in a note from the next door neighbor! / I opened it up and it said to me your quite a special kid now take this money to that shop and get that dress for Kim! / You can’t believe my sister shock as I walked in with that box and her new dress was in it! / She screamed she shouted and cried so long it made me run out side! / And then my mom comes to me and tells me Kim can’t go to the prom! / As it turns out they sent her home from school, its not because Kim was bad or broken any rules! / It’s cus she’s got some funny thing they call it chicken pox!

Recently I went to a hen party. The hen was very up to dressing up etc the British way, but the other girls (including me) were very reluctant to any ridiculous outfit behaviour etc.. So we got her a cowgirl outfit and the rest of us dressed normally. However, I tried to capture the imagery of British hen parties all night, so that the hen gets the souvenir that everything was like one of these extreme British hen parties. Sigh.. I know, how the camera can lie sometimes. But I took it as an interesting exercise…
