My twist on beautiful model, singer and dancer Sydney Jo Jackson, who was a real pleasure to work with. I was also impressed by the professionalism of the delightful Nicola Hamilton who came over to do the make up at very short notice. Another take with beautiful model, singer and dancer Sydney Jo Jackson, who was a real pleasure to work with. The delightful Nicola Hamilton came over to do the make up at very short notice. Part of the brief was to produce some B/W shots, and as I was after a low key effect with smooth tones, I rigged a black tent arrangement to stop light bouncing around the room and give maximum density to the shadow areas. This sumptuous Russian Orthodox cathedral / was built under the last Tsar Nicolas II / between 1903 and 1912 in Nice on / the French Riviera. / It was inaugurated on December 1912 and / is considerated one of the most magnificent / Russian Orthodox Cathedrals outside Russia. / This church has six onion domes and is built / on the form of a Greek cross. / The exterior is richly decorated in mosaîc. / The interior contains superb treasures of icons. / Russian began arriving in Nice in 1850 . / There is still a large Russian population here.

A very special work of art completed early 2005 just prior to visiting New Zealand, a place that has held an unexplained facination for me, even as a child. This is one of those artworks that even now, years later, I can still remember every brush stroke, every lump, bump and crease. It was easy to be lost in the moment with this one.
