Macro photograph from an Australian paperbark tree. This was taken late in the afternoon with my camera set on apperture priority! I am passionate about macro photography, I love to find art in the paperbark tree and rocks. Sometimes I find a miniature landscape hidden in the bark of a tree. The melaleuca tree is one of my most photographed tree barks. Featured in the IPA – International Photographers Alliance group, 9th August, 2008

“As I regained consciousness the storm was gaining momentum. I had strapped myself to my raft knowing that I may well not survive the night. As the dawn approached I struggled to hold on to what was left of my makeshift raft. My hands and feet were raw from the rope that I had used to secure myself. The size of the waves was terrifying and I prayed that with the new day the storm would pass and I would be safe…....” Macro photograph taken from a palm tree on the Gold Coast! This was taken just after the middle of the day from the shaded side of the tree. I am rather passionate about macro photography mostly of bark, rocks and flowers!! :) /
“The warning came too late…..no place to hide. We were down by the beach taking happy holiday snaps when the ocean started to recede. It took me a moment or two to realise what was about to happen. Everyone started to panic…..I could hardly hold a thought in my head with the sound of my heart beating and the adrenalin pumping through my veins. Then I remembered the cave we discovered at the end of the beach yesterday. That would be our only hope as we started to run. As we entered the cave I took one last look as the Tsunami hit….” Macro photograph taken from a palm tree, overcast day, camera set on aperture priority. Macro photography of bark, rocks and flowers are my passion. Always looking for that special ‘something’ thats a little bit different. Hope you enjoy my story and photograph!
Macro photograph taken from a rock on the Northern Gold Coast, Qld! Taken with aperture priority, slightly adjusted contrast to make the natural colours pop out! Makes a wonderful nature abstract! This Rock Art Series was taken from the same rock, I really don’t know why these rocks had such unusual colours. I believe they may have been mined from Tamborine Mountain which is famous for its “Thunderegg” rocks. Rocks shaped like large eggs and when you cut them open reveal amazing colours and crystals! Macro photography is my passion, I love to photograph mostly bark, rock and flowers!! / /
Macro photograph from the bark of a paperbark tree. This young tree has grown so quickly the bark has split creating amazing designs and textures! The bark is quite soft and supple. Aborigines used to wrap fish in the bark and then cook it on hot coals. Its also great to wrap around cuts and wounds as the oil is a natural antiseptic. Tea-tree oil is a popular disinfectant is produced and marketed world wide! This was taken late in the afternoon, with apperture priority. I am passionate about macro photography especially bark, rocks and flowers!!!
Took this macro photograph with aperture priority, late in the afternoon, it was getting quite dark so I used a flash on this shot! Just love Palm tree bark, this one had been burnt at some stage creating the charcoal sections. I have a few more fascinating photos which I will be uploading soon! / My passion is macro photograhy. I love to find hidden landscapes and abstract art in the bark of trees or in rocks. I also am quite partial to macro floral photography! This sunset photo was taken on the 8th July. I could not believe the colours this day, absolutely breathtaking, needless to say I kept snapping away until the colours disappeared! We have some really awesome sunsets this winter with all the rain that we have had and lots of clouds about. This was taken looking over the Coomera River in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
