You see it on the movies, TV and even read about it, but not for 1 second did i think i would be standing there too. New York City 2005, watching the new year roll in from Time square.
Taken from top of the Empire State Building, NYC, 10:00 PM. / It was so windy up there I had to jam my lightweight tripod against the wall with my knee to keep everything still. Originally shot on Fuji 100 ISO color print film (see insert below), scanned to digital on a Canon FS2710 negative scanner, then converted to BW.

Mid-town Manhattan F Train Station at 57th Street. Shot with a digital SLR this past summer and enhanced in photoshop and corel photo pro. While it remains a bit chilly outside…I’ve decided to play with a few of my older shots and have fun editing. Layers and model from free stock.
If you are ever in New York and want a lovely view of the city from the water…just hop on the Staten Island Ferry…It’s FREE! :). This is the Southern Tip of Manhattan …where the World Trade Towers once stood and where we will begin to see the rise of the new Freedom Towers (scheduled to open in 2013). An ever-changing skyline.
I think that this is one of my favorite spots in all of Central Park…Bethesda Arcade. It’s a small little tunnel that connects the Central Park Mall to Bethesda Terrace. It’s adorned with amazing stonework and beautiful tiles that make it a true work of art.
This shot was taken at the West 4 subway station in New York. So many wonderful photo opportunities waiting underground…yet I am often a bit nervous about shooting …not always sure how my fellow New Yorkers would feel about having a picture taken. For this reason…I have resorted to DA and this fine model – thought she fit nicely in the scene. -
A view of the Upper West Side of New York City from within Central Park…Looking North.

This lovely building is located in the town of Millbrook NY and has been abandoned for over 30 years. – here is a link to what it used to look like :) – Bennet College Want to know what it looks like on the inside…here’s a link to a photographer who braved the “no trespassing” signs

I shot the original version of this image a number of years ago… back in my “film” days! (I can’t wait for the day when my daughter says to me “Daddy tell me again how you used to shoot film…”) This path is located in Battery Park City next to the Hudson River-just a short distance south of where the World Trade Center used to stand. I always liked the composition of the original shot but felt it was slightly lacking in mood and atmosphere. So into the world of textures I went. I wound up using a blend of two separate textures for the final image. One of the textures is my current favorite “Of Corpse Not” from Skeletal Mass on flickr. Here’s a link to the texture One of the wonderful advantages of working with texture layers is that they can add so much emotion to a photo. This shot was taken right about dusk and the textures suggest the peace and tranquility of that time of day. I also like the fact that even though the park is fairly modern this scene looks as though it could have been snapped a hundred years ago. / /
The amazing variety of colors make tulips one of my favorite flowers to photograph. These beauties were at the New York Botanical Garden in New York City. Olympus E-10
