This is an image created to illustrate an environmental portrait of an old camera called a “speed graphic”... the whole scene is meant to tell a story of a time when this camera was in use. I hope you enjoy this marvolous piece of photographic history.
Isn’t another bad day (yet again) on the stock markets the perfect time to show you my latest still life in the “nostalgia” series, entitled: the stock market. / As usual, old and new elements are mingled together. The painted with light technique was used again, as well as digital manipulation to get the end result I was after. / It’s strange, I spent months planning this shot, preparing and getting the props and then in a few hours time it’s shot. It’s almost an anti-climax. / Well, I hope you enjoy it! / By the way, this is the fourth installment in this series, I’m withholding the second one which I consider my masterpiece in this series. I’ll probably upload it in a few days. / °°° / A wallpaper based on this photo can be found here more nostalgia: /
This image was inspired by a newspaper article I read about Wormsense being bought out by another company and how it was affecting it’s shares. So I used the actual newspaper in my image – not sure it’s clear enough to read the article though. / http://www.istockanalyst.com/article/viewiStockNews/articleid/2804132 Canon Rebel xt Canon-70-200 Grackle Southern Ontario Canada (that’s Toronto in the background)

Ink drawing on paper. / For the last 25 years Rita’s daily star sign has read: Capricorn, today you will be as bored and disillusioned as you were yesterday. This is a true story: There was once a woman who lived her life by the daily newspaper starsign she had delivered to her house everyday. She was fanatical about it. If the starsign said bad things will happen that day she would not even leave the house. On one of these particular days when she felt stuck inside she decided to clean out her attic. Whilst doing this she discovered her original birth certificate. It indicated that she was actually born on an entirely different day and month therefore she was a completely different starsign!!! Dear oh dear… I based this character on her.
Synthetic polymer paint and newspaper collage on paper. From a series documenting friends who have died from HIV/AIDS related illnesses. While he could still sit upright one of John’s greatest joys was reading the newspaper with Byron the dog.

Another one down, like 15 to go, lol. One of the reasons i have been so absent. i feel bad, but i am really trying to get this book done. One drawing takes forever, getting the composition can take days, or longer, then starting the sketch. i started this in pencil on 2 May, 2009. Finished in pencil & started in Prisma colored pencils on 9 May (my brother Chris’ birthday), & just finished today, 22 May (my Dad’s birthday). i will take a slight break & hopefully have time to come around. Really missing you all, but i gotta keep cracking the whip, really hoping to get this book completed.

In my community the homeless shelter assists its residents by employing them to sell newspapers on street corners. I know this man personally. He suffers from diabetes and has had most of his feet amputated. Yet here he is, in pain, cold, and homeless trying to earn some money selling newspapers. / MCN:C31-TFZT-3120 For more information, and to find out how YOU can help end homelessness, visit The National Alliance To End Homelessness

last night (or tonite? havent been to bed yet) wednesday night! / our volunteer fire dept got a call about a old restaurant here in townsend (old landmark) had smoke coming out of it, the restaurant had been closed for years, and even tho a tubing company had taken it over (which has been closed for two years now), the locals still refer to it as the old restaurant / just as we got there, we could see the fire, and of course started doing our thing…putting it out / within 3-5 minutes the house was completely engulfed in flames, my first mission (believe it or not) was to put fire out, and of course thinking the whole time..man i need to get shots of this!! (yes, im addicted to photography), but as we had some backup come in, and it was my time to take a break…straight for the camera i went / and grabbed over a 100shots, going around the building / we were there getting this completely out to where it was safe to leave until 1am. / talk about a total rush, meanwhile feeling a sadness as a townsend landmark is now rubble this shot was published in the Knox News Sentinal on Jan. 25,2008 :) , Knoxville Tn’s largest newspaper.
This was fun! / /
