RedBubble is about creativity, inspiration and expression; about finding and re-igniting the secret passion you had when you were a child; about sharing your artistic endeavors and knowledge; about learning more and connecting with others; or simply being imaginative. Now, when RedBubble started out, we created BubbleWRAP as a way to connect our members and their stories – we would share with everyone what we found to be inspiring and noteworthy. Well now it’s time to turn the tables and hand over the reigns… that’s right – BubbleWRAP is now yours! We want YOU – the RedBubble Community – to drive the inspiration and creative content of BubbleWRAP. We want you to share with us everything that excites your inner child or anything that inspires your creative pursuits. Things usually get a little quiet over the Christmas period so we thought it might be nice to do the same. / However, nothing stays quiet for long inside our bright shiny RedBubble, and 2010 is well & truly under way. / Here’s what we’ve been up to so far. She shared some pics with us & let us known how it all went. / Red Door Creative had an event, the J’adore Art Market , with lots of Redbubblers in attendance & fun had by all. / AnnMei had a selection of her works & accompanying article published in the Autumn issue of PhotoArt Magazine . Congratulations. This is no small feat, & your work looks amazing in the print layout. / For those of you in the UK, it’s time for another Face 2 Face meetup. Don’t forget your Red balloons folks! / !* Dark Cabaret *! have just finished a Challenge for Photo Manipulators & it’s exciting to see our group members filling the Top Ten positions.   Well, it’s been 2 months since we launched this group & so much has happened. Doesn’t time fly? / We already have close to 800 members & growing every day. / What’s been going on around the Photo Manipulators group? Challenges Since we opened we’ve launched no less than 8 Challenges covering many varied subjects. / The winning images can all be viewed in our Challenge Winners thread in the Challenge Forum. / So far all our Challenge winners have received a $20US redbubble voucher for their win, which is very exciting! / The Fake Tilt-Shift Model & Surrealism Challenges are still open. / Voting for these Challenges starts soon, so get those entries in fast. Featured Artists We’ve had the great pleasure of featuring 3 artists in the group. DragonFlyer , Randy Monteith , & Martin Muir . You’ll find them featured on our overview page right under the ‘recent work’. / They’re all artists with incredible bodies of work, all making a considerable to contribution to RedBubble, the group & their genre. / All 3 of them agreed to answer some interview questions about their work, their lives & RedBubble experiences. / These interviews can be found in the Interview Forum , so if you’ve missed them drop by for a read. I’d suggest you grab a cuppa on the way, then sit back & enjoy. / The Forums Our Tutorials forum is full of great contributions from our members. / Anna Shaw showed us The Easiest Way To Make Rays of Light , Matt Simner showed us how to apply a Cool Pop Art Effect to our portraits, & Halftone gave us a link to some awesome blood, guts & gore effects . / In Stock & Resources Johanne Brunet shared her own stock & texture images , & Kaleidoking brought us the great textures from Mayang . The Talent Scout thread is a great way to introduce us to new redbubble artists. / Some new artists we’ve met are Patrick Desmet who joined redbubble September 2009, SteveZ who joined Redbubble in September 2009, & Kenton Elliot who joined RedBubble in November 2009. All are regular contributors to the group & familiar faces to us all. / Schnette has very recently joined RedBubble in November 2009, & I’m sure will be another familiar face amongst our pages. A big welcome to you, we’ll be looking forward to seeing more of your amazing creations. / A number of our members shared their thoughts in the What Brings you to the Art of Photomanipulation thread. Thanks for sharing, it’s always great to hear what motivates others to create as they do. Special Events Antanas announced his solo exhibition will open in the Lithuanian parliament in Vilnius from November 24 – December 7th. / Congratulations Antanas, this is so well deserved. We’ve put together our December Newsletter highlighting the wonderful work and achievements of the members. :-))) Another month has come around so fast, we have 983 members, and already we find ourselves with the Festive Season upon us. / Let’s find out what’s been happening in our group in the last 4 weeks. Challenges We’ve completed 4 Challenges. This is Fantastic News Kallena, & so well deserved! / Gisela Schneider announced that she has been selected to participate in the Host Hullabaloo sponsored by the Redbubble group, Solo Exhibition. She will have 12 images featured in the Solo Feature Gallery Sunday January 17, 2010. Congratulations Gisela, looking forward to your reception. / Anna Shaw had a full page feature of images in Photoshop Creative Magazine, (WOW) and she also won their Readers Challenge, with her image The Rescue . What a huge acomplishment Anna, well done & congratulations! / Rosemary Scott announced her first solo exhibition currently hanging in South West Queensland for 6 weeks. / I was also lucky enough to be featured in Inside Solo Magazine vol 21 which was such an honour. Thanks so much to the Solo team. / Lorraine Creagh exhibited work at the Tap Gallery at Darlinghurst ‘I’m Rusted , I’m Crusted, I’m falling to Bitz’ 23 Nov – 4 Dec 2009. Great opening night that was officially opened by Australian iconic actor, Jack Thompson . Indigenous poet, dancers and so much more entertained everyone during the evening. Doesn’t time fly? / We already have close to 800 members & growing every day. / What’s been going on around the Photo Manipulators group? Challenges Since we opened we’ve launched no less than 8 Challenges covering many varied subjects. / The winning images can all be viewed in our Challenge Winners thread in the Challenge Forum. / So far all our Challenge winners have received a $20US redbubble voucher for their win, which is very exciting! / The Fake Tilt-Shift Model & Surrealism Challenges are still open. / Voting for these Challenges starts soon, so get those entries in fast. Featured Artists We’ve had the great pleasure of featuring 3 artists in the group. DragonFlyer , Randy Monteith , & Martin Muir . You’ll find them featured on our overview page right under the ‘recent work’. / They’re all artists with incredible bodies of work, all making a considerable to contribution to RedBubble, the group & their genre. / All 3 of them agreed to answer some interview questions about their work, their lives & RedBubble experiences. / These interviews can be found in the Interview Forum , so if you’ve missed them drop by for a read. I’d suggest you grab a cuppa on the way, then sit back & enjoy. / The Forums Our Tutorials forum is full of great contributions from our members. / Anna Shaw showed us The Easiest Way To Make Rays of Light , Matt Simner showed us how to apply a Cool Pop Art Effect to our portraits, & Halftone gave us a link to some awesome blood, guts & gore effects . / In Stock & Resources Johanne Brunet shared her own stock & texture images , & Kaleidoking brought us the great textures from Mayang . The Talent Scout thread is a great way to introduce us to new redbubble artists. / Some new artists we’ve met are Patrick Desmet who joined redbubble September 2009, SteveZ who joined Redbubble in September 2009, & Kenton Elliot who joined RedBubble in November 2009. All are regular contributors to the group & familiar faces to us all. / Schnette has very recently joined RedBubble in November 2009, & I’m sure will be another familiar face amongst our pages. A big welcome to you, we’ll be looking forward to seeing more of your amazing creations. / A number of our members shared their thoughts in the What Brings you to the Art of Photomanipulation thread. Thanks for sharing, it’s always great to hear what motivates others to create as they do. Special Events Antanas announced his solo exhibition will open in the Lithuanian parliament in Vilnius from November 24 – December 7th. / Congratulations Antanas, this is so well deserved. I only wish I could be there. Randy turned 49 & was determined to Photoshop . LOL! Happy birthday Randy, I hope you had a great time! Ravensoul was featured in Inside Solo magazine vol 15 , / Patrick Desmet was featured in the Digital Art magazine IMPRACABEZA.   We have our December newsletter at the Photo Manipulators group for all who love a great read :D Another month has come around so fast, we have 983 members, and already we find ourselves with the Festive Season upon us. / Let’s find out what’s been happening in our group in the last 4 weeks. Challenges We’ve completed 4 Challenges. Due to the Christmas season we’ve given you quite a long time frame for this one, so that gives you plenty of time to create a brilliant new piece of work. Remember to read the Challenge guidelines carefully though. We’re specifically looking for Greek Mythology of the half human, half animal kind. We’ve given you lots of helpful links to help you in your research if you’re not sure where to start. Voting starts in 1 month so get manipulating folks! We were so impressed by her beautiful Zodiac series that we convinced her to share her thoughts with us about creating it, & her latest project, the Tarot Series. Special Events / Mary Ann Reilly let us know that five of her works will be published in the March 2010 issue of Digital Art, along with a brief article that she wrote about bricolage. Congratulations Mary Ann. make sure you show us the magazine spread when it prints. / Dragonflyer confirmed that she will be having her first Solo Exhibition, to be held at the New North Fine Art Photographic Gallery in Fairfield Melbourne in either August or September of next year. This is Fantastic News Kallena, & so well deserved! / Gisela Schneider announced that she has been selected to participate in the Host Hullabaloo sponsored by the Redbubble group, Solo Exhibition. She will have 12 images featured in the Solo Feature Gallery Sunday January 17, 2010. Congratulations Gisela, looking forward to your reception. / Anna Shaw had a full page feature of images in Photoshop Creative Magazine, (WOW) and she also won their Readers Challenge, with her image The Rescue . What a huge acomplishment Anna, well done & congratulations! / Rosemary Scott announced her first solo exhibition currently hanging in South West Queensland for 6 weeks. / I was also lucky enough to be featured in Inside Solo Magazine vol 21 which was such an honour. Thanks so much to the Solo team. / Lorraine Creagh exhibited work at the Tap Gallery at Darlinghurst ‘I’m Rusted , I’m Crusted, I’m falling to Bitz’ 23 Nov – 4 Dec 2009. Great opening night that was officially opened by Australian iconic actor, Jack Thompson . Indigenous poet, dancers and so much more entertained everyone during the evening. Well, it’s been a big month, & next month is sure to be just as big. if you have some news that needs to be mentioned please, be sure to make sure you post it into the Forums or Journal it & submit your journal to the group.   Hello lovely Red Bubblers! I have been thinking about how to better promote my work, your work and Red Bubble in general. It is well known that it is hard to sell artwork these days, there is so much competition. There is plenty of buyers but what they buy depends on many things. I have been lucky enough to sell work on Red Bubble and hope you have too! How can you better utilise Red Bubble and make yourself and your work stand out? Promotion, promotion, promotion of your best, saleable work. How can I get the most out of Red Bubble and have fun at the same time? I want to have a look around Red Bubble with you and check out some good stuff. Firstly have you seen the Red Bubble Home Page? Do you ever check it out and see the theme of the day? Today has some gorgeous shots of lovely purple/pink pastel flowers, check them out HERE – Red Bubble Home Page You can participate in choosing the Home Pages too, the Forum has many topics you can join in chatting about HERE Being part of the Red Bubble family is important in maintaining a good relationship with the site, your selling ability and making new friends, many who have met up at Red Bubble meets! Don’t forget while you are on the Red Bubble Home Page to look at the great pics in Buyer’s Booth, lots of great goodies bought by Red Bubble members. Commenting and browsing is really important to get this feedback. I often browse my groups and others, looking at the work, commenting and favouriting ones I like, most often it is reciprocated by a comment back and maybe a Fave or a watchlist add, so it is good for you and others that we notice and comment on each others work. If you don’t look at anyone else’s work or leave a comment, why is anyone going to do the same to you – give and you shall receive. / Don’t forget, especially newcomers to press “reply” when you comment back so the person can see your reply. When you are on your My Bubble page you can see the tabs up the top, one of the small ones says Promote, see it? It looks like this when you click it HERE / This is a great page to find some promotional tools to use in other websites. I have a Blog which is another great way to get your work out there, off Red Bubble and use the promotional tools. / Here’s my BLOG / You can see how I have used the links to Red Bubble provided by RB for this kind of use. Let’s not forget our own webpage that Red Bubble provides for us, our Bubblesite. / Here’s my own BUBBLESITE I keep it up to date and all in different groups. It is easy to forget our Bubblesites but if you try and add your work into it as you go it saves you a huge job after a long time of forgetting it. Keep it updated and add the link into anything you can to direct people to your Bubblesite page. On your My Bubble page you can click the tab at the side that says: / Filter Activity Feed From that you can check all your comments and replies or see if you have been Featured recently, you can check out all the Challenges going in any groups you are in or see who is Favouriting your work. I use this tab all the time to keep up with what’s happening on Red Bubble. I host 6 groups and love to promote the work and people in them! I enjoy hosting and enjoy browsing the artworks looking for those special ones to Feature. / These are my groups that I host, you might like to join up any that suits! Australia! You’re Standing In It… / Bug Hunt! / Circles Of Latitude / Creative Spirits Of Queensland / From The Earth / Rain Drops & Water Art I give banners or notices for Features so you always know you get one! Entering and/or winning Challenges can give you heaps of looks on an artwork so make sure you check out Challenges for your chance of extra exposure. Don’t forget the wonderful items that make great gifts on Red Bubble, the T-shirts are in a class of their own and calendars are great for even the hardest person to please, take some time out to indulge in some poetry reading or just browse the multitude of artworks to gain some inspiration!   Here is a sample of the brand spanking new monthly newsletter from Red Door Creative… Each month artcreative will feature an Artist or Photographer, keep you up to date on events and exhibitions, showcase our student’s work and have a cool Tips n Tricks section. This month’s featured Photographer is Steve Lovegrove (starvingartist) – Steve will be teaching the kids at our photography boot camp how to make their own pin hole cameras as well as teaching a basic photography workshop for adults on the weekend.
