  • As it was when stranded at Knobby’s Beach, Newcastle.

  • This was taken at Swansea, Newcastle NSW, Australia. The water around this place is absolutley amazing – the most beautiful blues I have ever seen…unfortunately not so good for capturing in IR…but I managed to get the sky to turn out like the colour of the water. Honestly, that’s the colour of the water. / / / / / / / / / / /

  • And now for something a little different…..I did say little bit…..LOL! Yes, It’s still IR but I’ve played with the colours. / / /

  • Bar Beach / Newcastle NSW Australia

  • I was down at Newcastle Beach this morning because I woke up to see a big swell pumping through Merewether but it just wasn’t performing.. so I decided to explore other parts of Newcastle which I’ve never bothered to photograph before. I was set up with my 500mm lens to get some surfing photographs, but due to the salty mist (making it difficult to see and focus) and my low placement (couldnt really see the wave if a wave had just broken in front of it), it wasn’t ideal for any decent surfing photographs. There were only a few decent waves coming through anyway which were actually being ridden, some were a bit too fat or shutting down too soon. So I swivled my gigantic lens around to see these guys waiting patiently to jump off the rocks into the surf. With the low sun, it created some beautiful back lighting perfect for silhouettes.

  • Fading daylight smears threads of colour across the surface of the water in Lake Macquarie, New South Wales. This photograph was taken with a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500. This is my submission for the #12 Great Features – Never Placed in the Top Ten Challenge

  • A rural scene from the Hunter Valley in Australia, with a few textures and effects added to it.

  • Taken a while ago at a place called Warners Bay in Newcastle, Oz. It’s infrared.

  • Newcastle Civic Centre. At the north end of the Ceremonial Way, mounted on the Otta slate flank wall forming the link to the Council Chamber, is the majestic bronze sculpture of the River-God Tyne by David Wynne – some sixteen feet (4.8 m) high and two and a quarter tons (2880 kg) in weight which, in its time, was the largest bronze figure to be erected in this country since Rodin’s time. It is further unique in that water pours from his elevated hand drenching the body and symbolising his significance as the allegorical god of the Tyne.

  • There are many fine old buildings in Newcastle dating back to the mid to late 1800’s. This is just a few of them made into a Digital Montage.

  • This is the Sunset on the 24th seen from the rocks around the Newcastle Salt water Baths. This HDR image was made from a raw image and processed in Photomatix Pro 3. The sky was amazing beautiful colours and a great reflection in the rock pools. The clouds to the right of the image was a storm that was hammering the Nelson bay region. • A slightly different angle. Location: Newcastle Ocean Baths, NSW, Oz. / Time: 10:35am / Canon 450D / Filters: ND400 + circular polarising / f/20 / ISO100 / 25sec / tripod

  • Canon 450D, ND400, ISO100, f/9.0, 6sec exposure. Newcastle Beach @ 9:47AM

  • Took the boys to the park this avo and stopped by the Lake on the way home. I set up the camera with my ND400 filter to get some long exposures – that way I could keep an eye on the boys whilst the camera did it’s thing.

  • Looking though some of my old images I found a complete list of the Images I took of the Pasha Bulka. Not long after taking these images I had a hard drive failure and I though I had lost all of the photos taken that day. About 5 months ago I found a CD that had about 6 images on it but only JPG versions. Still They were processed and they have turned out to be some of my more popular images. During a clean up of the computer room I discovered a CD with ALL of the images. This image I have not seen since I took it and I was very supprised at the quality of the image. Also on theat CD are some images I took of Somersby Falls the morning after that huge June storm. I will process a few of those as well. / Image taken with a Nikon D70 using the 70-300mm lens Featured in Central Coast and Huter / Featured in Going Coastal / Featured in Colour and Light / Featured in Style! • Ever wondered what was lying just up in front around the next bend? This looks like it may just be one bend to far. Turn around now or you may just see IT. / Another spooky image from the Fernleigh Track in the bushland around Newcastle. This time there was no HDR. This is a 6 second exposure at f14 using my 18-70mm Nikon Lens on the D300. Tripod again down low to give the view from a childs perspective. The Raw image was processed in CS3 then with adjustments in Shadows and highlights to give it a weird look I desaturated the image. I think it is even more spooky than Will I get scared??
