Sunset at Warners Bay / Lake Macquarie NSW Australia
A pastel sunset over Lake Macquarie in Newcastle. Looking westward from the shoreline at Warners Bay. Very rare atmospheric conditions made it look like a vision of heaven.
Taken at Speers Point, looking westwards. This spectacle must have left everyone who cared to notice it in awe of natures beauty ! Lake Macquarie, Australia. Image captured using a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500.
Rather big seas this afternoon. Canon 450D / ISO400 / f/22 / Exposure 2.5sec / Focal Length: 18mm / Filters: ND4 (Canon) / Gradient Tobacco / Gradient Grey / Tripod / Wet pants up to my knees and as a result bloody cold feet.
I got really wet for this one. I really should wait for warmer weather to do these sort of shots!
I liked the colour in this one. Taken on the Sony A200 again. Too much sea spray to take out the Canon.
Golden Waters. A magical golden sunset over Lake Macquarie [ Australia ] in Autumn of 2008. The heavy clouds made it look like a vision from Heaven or another world.
The sun bursts through the clouds at the very scenic Speers Point in Newcastle on a Winters afternoon in 2008. Newcastle is situated on the East Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Newcastle’s fantastic little harbour with a sunset show courtesy of nature itself.
An awesome display of natures magic in Newcastle, New south Wales. Photograph shot from a park on the banks of Lake Macquarie, a Council Shire and a lake in Newcastle.
The view looking back down the Hunter River from Nobby’s Beach to the inner city of Newcastle, New South Wales. This scenery later inspired my poem called On A Warm Night In Spring
Tonights Sunset at Warners Bay, Lake Macquarie, NSW. Long exposure: f/22, ISO100, 124sec. FEATURED in the “Light & Reflection” and the “Dawn & Dusk Light” groups
This is the Sunset on the 24th seen from the rocks around the Newcastle Salt water Baths. This HDR image was made from a raw image and processed in Photomatix Pro 3. The sky was amazing beautiful colours and a great reflection in the rock pools. The clouds to the right of the image was a storm that was hammering the Nelson bay region. Hope you enjoy / This image taken with a Nikon D300 Featured in That one Great Shot / Featured in Going Coastal / Featured in Jpeg Cast-offs / Featured in Newcastle NSW, Lake Macquarie & Surrounding Region / Featured in HDR Photography / Featured in Going Coastal / 1200 views on the 5th Nov 2009
Another from the telly’s trip to Newcastle Baths.
Tonight’s sunset at Merewether Beach. Canon EOS450D / ND400 filter / ISO100 / f/8 / 50sec Processing: / Add a gradient filter to bring out some detail in the sky. Then / Duplicate Layer, set blend mode to Overlay and go Filter>Other>High Pass and use a radius of approx 20 pixels. Click OK to accept. Hold down the Alt key and add a new vector mask at the bottom of the layers palette to assign a black (hide all) mask to the layer. Then its a matter of selecting the paintbrush and painting back in the detail on selected parts of the image. I chose the sand/rock in the foreground and the clouds. Finally add a Vibrance layer to pump up the colours a tad and finish with some noise reduction if necessary. ;0)
I shot this picture whilst staying in Newcastle. I love the fact that at night they illuminate the pool with massive flood lights
Took the boys to the park this avo and stopped by the Lake on the way home. I set up the camera with my ND400 filter to get some long exposures – that way I could keep an eye on the boys whilst the camera did it’s thing.
