I HAD BEEN SITTING IN ONE OF MY USUAL HAUNTS IN THE CUYAHOGA VALLEY NATIONAL PARK BETWEEN CLEVELAND AND AKRON, OHIO FOR ABOUT THREE HOURS ON A SUNDAY MORNING IN APRIL. NOTHING…BUT NOTHING INTERESTING HAD COME ALONG AND I FINALLY DECIDED TO PACK IT IN AND MOVE TO ANOTHER PART OF THE PARK. I PACKED UP MY GEAR AND STOOD UP, TURNED AROUND, AND STEPPED OVER THE LOG I’D BEEN SITTING ON, TOOK TWO STEPS, AND ON THE THIRD, ALMOST STEPPED RIGHT ON THIS LITTLE GUY. / Canvas Print / / Framed Print / Rainbow – Angel of Hope / To remind us there is always hope :) / Rainbow – Angel of Hope is created on brown paper / I use a range of media including pastels, acrylics, charcoal, markers / Rainbow was inspired by my love of Kokeshi Dolls (Japanese wooden dolls) and because rainbows have been on my mind a lot lately, I’ve been incorporating them into lots of my work I hope you like her :)
/ I used candlewax, few different sized black marker pens, retractable pencils, charcoal white and black, ink and pastels on a small piece of timber to create “Happiness Always”......and that’s what I wish for everyone…. happiness always it could be for a newborn baby, just cheer someone who’s a little sad, or for a birthday ~ wishing someone happiness always is just a nice thing to do any time of the year :)
I waaaaant my muuuuummeeeeeeeeeeee ! :)

sales of this design so far – 1 sale / / / I’ve gone a bit crazy with elephants lately, and after seeing little Luk Chai the baby elephant at Taronga Zoo, Sydney over the last couple of days, i just had to create yet another version, a little baby girl elephant this time, i hope you like her… in honour of ‘Luk Chai’... welcome to the world Little Prince… A pencil drawing coloured digitally :) This would make a nice welcome card for a new baby girl, nursery, children’s room, or a nice birthday gift and all occasion card or print for anyone who loves and collects elephants
/ / / original pencil drawing ...stayed up very late drawing “Nature’s Child”... you know when it’s time for a baby to be born, i think it’s very similar with art… the inspiration just comes when it’s ready…and sometimes that means drawing til 3am like i did with this one. ...the drawing took about 3 hours, and the digital colouring took about 5 hours today. ...inspired by some fantastic eyes i’ve seen lately, (drawn by people on RB) and the dear little willy wagtails…they are so cheeky…they aren’t authentic in colour here, because they are always black and white with little markings above the eye…but i have put their essence into the work hopefully. I think this is my favourite so far :) /
One of my favorites right after my grandson was born. The Love Story: My daughter, Erin had just bought her own house and had a series of roommates to help her pay the mortgage while she finished school. She tired of them leaving her with phone bills etc and saw an ad to host exchange students at Sacramento State College. She decided to enroll in the program and hosted numerous students. His Story: He arrived from Korea and was at the college to find his host. He noticed a young woman drive up and jump out of a Jeep and was instantly tantalized so placed himself in a position to say hi to her as she walked by. Her Story: She was going in to meet her next student and passed a guy who smiled broadly at her and said hi! She said hi and walked on by thinking, ” Mmmm -He’s kinda cute!” Lo and behold they were matched up! She showed him the area when he was not in school and i thought something was different about this student. They spent so much time together. After he left she visited Korea and then he returned to complete his education here. They had two beautiful weddings, one, a traditional Korean ceremony and the other a traditional American one. They are now happily raising their little boy and talking about another child. They are beautiful. Featured: NYIP Students and Alumni Group Winning Photo: Love Is Group, Couples Challenge
Summer Breeze a beautiful poem by the same title by a dear friend of mine Anne Van Alkemade / Inspired by the song Summer Breeze / by Seals and Croft Also inspired by myself and my experience of having bugs and insects come to try and take up residence in my ears… scrabbling around in there, getting all comfy…while I’m going crazy…click beetles, houseflies and spiders so far have all tried this… lol This is a girl who has an affinity with nature, and as the summer breezes begin to blow here in Australia…....the animals are drawn to live in her hair thinking that it must be branches of a tree… yes, my hair’s that dry… :) I thought it a fitting one for summer, hope you like her… Pencil drawing took me about 3 hours / Digital colouring – 10 hours / Total time 13 hours
/ Half coloured, thank you to gottheshot friend and fellow bubbler for the idea! / I have also a softer pink version, I would really appreciate some feedback as to which version you like the best, thank you :) / / / Original drawing, please note the actual rainbow that appeared on the drawing from light coming in through the trees outside the window of my studio, hence her name…. Bramble Rainbowtree…. she throws her arms skyward reaching to the heavens above… spots, stripes, flowers and streamers are added to convey the celebration and joyfulness in her spontaneous gesture…. ...Little Bramble Rainbowtree began as a little pencil drawing inspired by my beautiful niece Maya, who has the longest hair ever! This so reminds me of her, except that Maya’s hair is much more beautiful and much darker in colour. ...I have coloured Bramble Rainbowtree digitally, I hope you like this special fairy :) ...a great little vintage design for big and little girls, friends, birthdays, gifts, bedroom decor, nursery walls, etc.

/ / There’s an Elephant in my Garden / a drawing on catridge from my Art Diary / digitally coloured I hope that the grownups who look at this painting will remember something special from their childhood, some hopeful feeling, which will help them through today’s difficulties. There are all the colours of the rainbow in this piece, to remind us that there is always hope, no matter how hopeless it seems sometimes. The rainbow is a sign of hope. Children See/Children Do powerful message for grownups I hope that all the children who look at this painting will drift off into a faraway place in their imagination and feel wonderful for a while, especially if things are getting them down…and if life is wonderful, may this little picture add to the wonder and spark the imagination. Big hello to Maya!! :) / There’s an Elephant in my Garden – Sepia Drawing also available (click here) A sepia drawing before I colour this work…. “there’s an elephant in my garden” Inspired by my parents talk of topiary gardens in Tassie and their topiary teapot in the backyard and my little girl with the curl Sarah, who’s all growed up now (but this reminds me of her when she was a littlun)...thanx Nenek and Poppy….luv ya
