  • This image was originally an acrylic-on-canvas painting I made for my sister who now lives in Australia. It includes a bottle of a famous Irish porter in the foreground so my sister won’t forget where she floated in from. / This is a digital conversion I made from the original acrylic-on-canvas painting. I was not able to aquire a quality photo image when I painted it. While identical to the original painting, this image has a cleaner and sharper look when viewed close up. This allows better and larger prints to be produced by Redbubble. / The original painting can be viewed at my website / and it’s also featured below in the video here. And here’s a photo of the original acrylic-on-canvas painting displayed in the home of it’s owner This painting is also available from here where you can zoom in on it for a closer look. Please remember that this is a digital conversion of an original acrylic painting. Judge for yourself, but in my opinion the digital image is a lot cleaner and subtle to the eye.

  • I saw this beat up old car on my trip to Lake Mungo. Quite an arid area. Especially now, as parts of south eastern Australia are now in drought. At the time in January, there had been so little rain that the normal grass cover had died and revealed the red earth underneath. It’s a very bumpy journey, and almost undrivable in the wet due to the clay soils. Nikon F90x / Fuji Velvia 100 Imacon Flextight 949 scan / (AVAILABLE IN LARGE SIZE CANVAS, PRINTS, ETC )

  • Beach scene looking towards Crampton Island at Tabourie Lake, New South Wales, Australia.

  • BEST VIEWED LARGER As the Northern Hemispere turns to Spring the Southern Hemisphere turns to autumn. This shot was taken in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area in the township of Mount Wilson. The colours when I visited were great , but with the climate conditions that we are experiencing the colours do not last long. / The natural patterns of autumn, highlighted by the sunlight. This is a private garden of 12 Acres that is one of the many opened up to the public in autumn and spring> There is no colour manipulation here it is a good example of what effect pure HDR has on autumn colours, what is brighter to the human eye is emphasised when opened to High Dynamic Range (HDR) Equipment: Nikon D300 Sigma 10-20mm lens / Technique: 5 Bracketted exposures then processed using Photomatix with a slight adjustment to focus in Capture NX. The colours emphasised by the layering process of HDR. /

  • Jasper and Roxi play in the shallow waters of Lake Mulwala. Roxi is a Bull Arab (Australian bred pig hunting dog). / Jasper is a Hungarian Visla (pedigree water gun dog). Roxi is 13 months and Jasper is 12 months. / They have grown up together since young puppies, are best friends and love eachother and pretty much everybody around them. They love a good play and will play until the sun goes down. Whilst they are at either ends of extremeties when it comes down to personalities, it’s their differences which make them compliment eachother in every way. Mulwala, New South Wales, Australia. July 2009.

  • One evening few years ago I was walking at the Kings Cross suburb of Sydney. It was already dark, but a high-rise building above me did not have a single light in any of its 350 rooms. It was a somewhat scary to stand by this huge abandoned giant in a centre of the city. The sign on the top read “Millennium Hotel”. My mind started to picture apocalyptic stories about what might have happened to it in few years past the new millennium. I didn’t know that time that it was closed for the complete renovation. And here we go, $98m and few years later building is transformed into modern 37-storey Zenith Apartments tower. What a stunning view over the city it must be from its roof top. P.S. The Coca Cola Billboard is a character itself being the heritage-listed and largest billboard in the Southern Hemisphere. This is a vertical panorama or a vertorama as it is called sometimes. I took 2 sets of 3 AEB shots from a tripod (one centering on the Coke sign and another one for the top of the building). Those were later combined into a single HDR (4129×4720) and then tonemapped. Location: Darlinghurst Road, Potts Point, New South Wales, Australia > featured in HDR Photography (13-Sep-09) From my photoblog at http://www.bouncedphoton.com This print is available with 0% markup. Please enjoy and thank you for your visit!

  • I took this at the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia. The pathway went behind the waterfall, so a slight long exposure allowed me to capture this shot!

  • The Parkes Observatory has to be my most favourite thing to photograph. Whenever we’re driving through outback New South Wales, I always have to stop and get some shots of it. I was pleased to get a different perspective this time. Have a great week everyone. From Wikipedia: The Parkes Radiothermal Telescope, completed in 1961, was the brainchild of E.G. (Taffy) Bowen, chief of the CSIRO’s Radiophysics Laboratory… The primary observing instrument is the 64-metre movable dish telescope, second largest in the Southern Hemisphere… During the Apollo missions to the moon, the Parkes Observatory was used to relay communication and telemetry signals to NASA, providing coverage for when the moon was on the Australian side of the Earth.
