Buttermilk Falls cascades down Tillman’s Ravine over 90 feet in various stages. The falls appear out of nowhere in the thick forest at the Stokes State Forest Preserve of northwestern New Jersey. This is a really remote and great place to spend a few hours anytime of year. 94 foot Buttermillk Falls in the strikingly beautiful Tillman Ravine, captured at Stokes State Forest in northwestern New Jersey. Without question this area is among the most scenic & photographic in the entire northeastern US. Although this is not a free falling waterfall it is strikingly beautiful the way it zig zags down the ravine. Please view this in large size for the best portrayal. Deep in the White Mountains of New Hampshire off of Route 26, a sign says waterfall…so of course I follow and this is what I was able to find. Quite a treat I must say myslef and the good news is I located this jsut before darkness settled in! Good because I didn’t exactly want to be in the middle of strange woods at dark!! Nikon D90 / /
