This original acrylic painting on canvas began as a sketch of the Sandia Mountains around sunset, but evolved into something else when I decided to add the adobe wall. I especially like the adobe walls with the wagonwheels enclosed. People around here create some very charming adobe walls, gates and doorways.

Original has been executed in CHALK PASTEL on cartridge paper – my lovely new patent grey leather flat shoes. I used to love those shoes so much. In this image I’m sitting cross-legged looking down at my lovely new shoes with a sketchpad and a pack of pastels on my lap. Not such a nice carpet though. That was in a student flat from some years back in Limerick City, Ireland. ....Just don’t ask me how many years back, OK! / I executed this piece when I was about 22 years of age. / I made a sale of this art piece on 15th April 2009.
