  • This is another of my favourites. I can’t remember the exact date I painted it… it was roughly January or February of 2006. I used acrylic on cardboard (but HOW I used it is a secret!), approximately 63cm x 51cm. • Vibrant, flamboyant panting of the colorful homes and harbours found in the Atlantic Canada provinces and in the Maine, New England areas. I spent many vacations with my family in these beautiful quarters and there is something so heart warming about the architecture, harbours, the many seaside shops, cafes, and restaurants; and of course the beautiful ocean and all the fishing boats and seagulls. It reminds me of summer and the way it should be.

  • The Bird of Paradise is an extraordinary flower, both in its vibrant colors and its unique form. The sun was shining directly on this blossom in an otherwise shady alcove and I liked the natural spotlight effect it created.

  • The beautiful colours of a peacock.

  • Acrylic on canvas / A few weeks ago I saw some Pukeko at Hoopers Inlet on the Otago Peninsula. I have painted my version of them. They are full of character and quite amusing. I love the colour of their plumage a beautiful indigo blue with black and white. This is contrasted by a brilliant bright scarlet beak and red legs. They can run quite fast. They are swamp birds perferring wetlands.
