Nature’s Wonders, landscapes captured from above. Forests and rivers, mountains and valleys, islands and seascapes taken from commercially operated aeroplanes over Europe, Asia and America. Credit goes to my fellow artists without whom this calendar would not be possible: Mother Nature, numerous Town & Country planners and countless farmers who created eye-catching and often very abstract scenery, when viewed from above! My thanks also goes to all the pilots and crews of the airlines I’ve travelled with, bringing me safely to my destinations. Part of my series World from Above. Also Available – The World from Above – Landscapes, a series of landscapes from above both natural and man-made.

A photographic tour up through the caldera to El Teide, past moonlike landscapes, lava flows and fascinating rock formations. El Teide is the highest Spanish mountain, located on the Canary Island of Tenerife. With its highest peak at 3,718 metres above sea level it is a quite amazing phenomenon – within a relatively short drive from beach hotels to the Las Canadas crater and the cable car up to the Pico del Teide. From its base it is also the third highest active volcano in the world, having last erupted in 1909. The National Park was designated a World Heritage in 2007. Location: Teide National Park, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain / Nikon D1X, D70, D200, Sigma 18-200m, 70-300mm. Postpro in CS2, CS4.
