The southerly is ripping through and we’re settling in for a rainy day. Then all the sudden the sun pops out – illuminating Bondi buildings. Got this quick snap at the right moment with a Canon 1ds MKII and 15mm Fisheye. Love the colours.

I took this shot in Bateau Bay, which is part of Central Coast New South Wales Australia. Roughly 2 hours above Sydney. I love the glow of sunsets in wet sand and this, broken by the rocks, formed a scene I just had to capture!

Taken at Norah Head, two hours north of Sydney on the Central Coast of New South Wales. Beautiful little place =) the lighthouse there is too cute.

Although they (the City of Sydney) do a great job every year, I think putting a large beating heart on the bridge was one of their best ideas to date. That, and ‘Eternity’. I also like how, if you look along the left of the top of the arch, you can just see the tiny little bridgeclimbers going about their touristy business. Expensive (and you can’t take a camera), but a pretty cool thing to do.

/ . / I had some requests of a portrait shot of my photo entitled “Luna over Luna Park”. Luckily, I had taken the shot. I’m not great at giving photos titles, hence the title for this one. This was taken on the same night of my other photos “Luna Over Luna Park”, “Luna Harbour” and “Luna PANORAMA”. The photos were taken in quite quick succession. I attempted to combine the full moon, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You might be interested in viewing the other photos because this is in Portrait, two are in Landscape, and one PANORAMA. It’s amazing how a similar subject can be photographed in slightly different ways, and produce different results. I will interested in knowing which of the four is you favourite !

/ . / The rocky sandstone ledge known as The Rocks is where members of the First Fleet stepped ashore on 26 January 1788 and British settlement of Australia was first established. Today it is Sydney’s historic old town quarter, nestled between the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. Parts of the modern city are in the background.

We had been shooting since 6.30am after racing into the city to capture the fog. We started at the Royal Botanic Gardens and slowly made our way around to Bennelong Point. The morning was crisp, bright, quiet, still, and the light was sensational. At the Opera House the cleaning crews were at silent, diligent work. One of several working on the steps, this young lady was not in a hurry and indeed was quite intent on her task. I had plenty of time to compose the shot and she was not even aware of my presence. Did you ever visit a place where you completely forget what year it is now? Once we walked through the front gate of the brewery we thought we stepped into 1850s. I would call it The Time Machine of Goulburn city. You walk in and for $5.20 it takes you 150 years back (tastings included). Built in the middle of 19 century it is one of the oldest surviving breweries in Australia. Beautiful place, with a lot of history in it and it is history that can be seen, touched and photographed. And the best part – it is a working brewery where good old traditional ale is still produced. This was a situation where I wished I had a wider lens than my universal Nikon 18-200mm. The window was very close to a wall and it was hard to fill the frame. I managed to find a little square of space on the stairs leading to the 2nd floor and set up my tripod there. Next steps were easy: 3 RAW merged in HDR, then tonemapped and post-processed. From my photoblog at http://www.bouncedphoton.com This print is available with 0% markup.
