Taken from top of the Empire State Building, NYC, 10:00 PM. / It was so windy up there I had to jam my lightweight tripod against the wall with my knee to keep everything still. Originally shot on Fuji 100 ISO color print film (see insert below), scanned to digital on a Canon FS2710 negative scanner, then converted to BW. 5005 views… 10 November 2009
Old and new(ish) architecture in the Melbourne CBD – The old GPO and the Commonwealth Bank Headquarters.
World Trade Center a few months before 9/11, New York, USA
The Twin Towers WTC in New York City photographed in September 2000. Nothing more needs to be said except that they were iconic and nobody will ever forget the outrage of the following year. I do not support the war on terror as it is happening but this is not the site for political debate. I loved their symmetery and the incredible sense of mans achievement when one simply looked up. The meaning of the word skyscraper multiplied by two. Questions regarding the attacks and our world as we know it. / http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/main.htm
This isn’t a shot of a building that I flipped in Photoshop. It’s designed to look this way if you stand in the corner and shoot almost straight up. I did take a bit of tweaking as it’s not designed to be perfectly symmetrical. One wing of the building is shorter than the other. It’s a really well designed building with a wonderful abstract quality. Love the skyscrapers of MIdtown Manhattan.
one of the few times I was actually glad somebody got in the way of my shot! totally adds to the hustle n’ bustle feel of NYC :)

This image was taken on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the Amex Building in New York. People were drawn to the view of the rebuilding of Ground Zero and were speaking so softly. Concurrent to the silent viewing is the incredible acitivity of rebuilding taking place in the area itself. Originally the glass wall seen here was opaque (marble, i think) but when the repairs were made to the building the marble was removed so that people could view Ground Zero. Shot taken with my little digital camera that i have since lost!

From my Bird-Fish Eye series. New York city is too big for only 1 photo so I took 2. I shot this from the Empire State Building looking down town. I am ADD and Dyslexic so I want to make photos that I can look at a long time with out getting board. I have been studying this photo since I created it in 2006 and I will never get tired of looking at it. It has tuns of landmarks from the Central Park to Rockefeller Tower. You can even see a posh roof top party if you look hard enough. You can’t go wrong with Black and White when shouting New York City.
get in the cab…....the meter is running…......... / enjoy the tour of the Big Apple /
Taken on February 28, 2009 with an Olympus FE-340. I know, there are probably many images of the Gherkin here already. But for myself who is not British, it was really exciting to get close to it. London is rich in history, but meanwhile you can also see a lot of modern architecture being developed and taking over; and we’re also moving towards building up, so our tall skyscrapers over shadow history in place and time. Here the Gherkin already looks much taller than the old buidlings in front. But for a better idea of scale (sound familiar? :P)... As you can see, one glass diamond is already about the height of a person.
