This is two of the three auto exposure bracketted shots merged in photomatix. The boat moved too much in the longer exposure for that one to be useable. The Rous River is a tributary of the Tweed, and is basically surrounded by cane farms and mountains. We’re in the middle of one of the largest calderas in the world, I believe….a monster volcano from even before I was born! Canon 5D, 16-35mm at 16mm, f/10, 1/60”, ISO 50, tripod on a moving boat…

These tank traps were placed along the length of Stockton Bight during WW II. Some new tomorrow / by Anaisnais In death we departed, / you knew your time had come. / Your body rose to meet last breath, / then sunk again, to hold / forever’s peace within your chest. Such frozen coldness set your bones, / grey/blue lips, syanosis undertones; / and what for me to do next, / but search your soul, / which lies not in your breast? The last day of a wonderful trip around Spain, this was the view back to the holiday let we’d booked, every evening we travel back to the villa and in between the trees there was this view. I hoped at one point during our trip that I’d take a shot when the light or timing light was right the unfortunately it never seemed to be right. On the last night, on our way back to the airport we got a puncture and had to stop in a lay by for hours, as there was no spare tyre and the nearest breakdown truck 4 hours away!
