  • It was an incredibly warm December. High winds and storms had delayed my meeting, so I spent the afternoon with my camera, searching the streets for the perfect photos. Lunch had been a bit of french food, served on my backpack while sitting on the outcropping on the south end of central park. I’d only just finished dinner, falafel from a stand on the street, when I looked up. I could see the Top of the Rock up there, with blue light streaming up the building. The perfect photo.

  • It all depends on you… All across the world, in every kind of environment and region known to man, increasingly dangerous weather patterns and devastating storms are abruptly putting an end to the long-running debate over whether or not climate change is real. Not only is it real, it’s here, and its effects are giving rise to a frighteningly new global phenomenon: the man-made natural disaster. BARACK OBAMA, speech, Apr. 3, 2006Global Warming / Global Warming / by Kira a 5th grader from Hawaii, USA Burning hot temperatures / More gases in our air / Over flowing Mother Nature / Does anyone really care? / The Earth will need a fan or two / When the time comes near. / Are we out of control with our oil spills / I think that we must fear. / The factories not listening to what we have to say / We must save our Earth / And we must save it today. Combined 3 different photos as layers, removed the background of the face photo with the erase tool on a transparent layer, added a cloud layer last at about 60% transparency over face and tree areas, used the smudge tool to blend and added a glow using GIMP2 software. • Hudson Terrace, Fort Lee, New Jersey / © jc warburton 09, Nikon D90,Nikkor 18-200mm 1:3.5 – 5.6 VR lens The GWB, upper level, opened for traffic on Oct. 25th, 1931. The lower level, referred to as “Martha”, LOL, was opened in 1962. It’s a beautiful suspension bridge connecting Washington Heights, Bronx, New York to Fort Lee, New Jersey. There’s a walkway on the north and south side of this suspension bridge and it’s not a walk for the faint of heart. The guard rail comes up just a bit higher than waist level and it’s not solid. I could actually imagine a small child slipping through and falling off this bridge. You can’t take any bridge photos while on the bridge except at the halfway mark. There’s security at both ends, in the middle, and an officer on a bicycle who goes back and forth. The bridge is owned and run by the Port Authority of New York, New Jersey.

  • ... otherwise known as General Sherman. That’s gilded bronze covered in pigeon poop. The statue stands on a granite pedestal. I think the pigeon droppings add a nice touch, don’t you? Central Park East, New York City. Nikon D90,Nikkor 18-200mm 1:3.5 – 5.6 VR lens. Tone mapping effect added.

  • Leaving the gorge there is one more set of falls for your enjoyment / Taken with the Nikon d-90 and the 18-105 nikkor lens on safari with fellow redbubblerLina This is a 3 shot bracket tonemapped in photomatrix
