New York City Traffic. A Winter night in the Upper West Side on Central Park West. The Tourists have long since left Strawberry Fields and the first signs of snow have decended. This image is a B/W with color enhanced to show the motion of the City.

This image shows the lights remembering the Twin Towers over Manhattan on the 11th September 2007. The sombre air over the city lightens as the night descends and the beauty of the lights is exposed. The City awakes from melancholy and the streets have an electric feel as the inhabitants wander and wonder at the display.

Used GIMP2 to desaturate 2 photos, added transparent underlayer & erased background of girl photo, made it about 60% transparent then pasted in place, / on another layer, used paint tool to texture foggy sky, smudge tool to blend & added radient glow. This Adirondack river is strewn with glacial boulders that came to rest as the last of the ice sheets retreated northward about 10,000 years ago. Martha found it a congenial place to rest, too, but the water surges past, compelled to constantly seek new places. At the riverbank, we are connected, linked, and attached to all of these other places by the lifeline of the river.
