  • One of our rescue animals (5 permanent, 7-10 temporary / being fostered at most times) We retreived CiCi from a / feral cat trap. She had two broken legs and other problems / that we needed the vet to take care for the first year.. Now in / wet season we need to bathe her weekly with antiseptic / soap to prevent skin problems. She very afraid of blow dryer / but quite by accident we found that she loves a heater / and will turn all sides including tummy towards the / heater to dry. We collected her when she was about / 3 months old and have had her for about 5 years. / She has not grown much due to her early trauma. / We have had many individuals say they would take / her off our hands since we usually have a lot of foster / animals but we would never even consider it. / Pet owners need to be aware of pet overpopulation / as well as animal health issues and see that both / are promptly taken care of / ( Vet Care and Spay Neuter Programs).

  • One of our foster dogs. We call all the dogs / that we take care of “Foster Dog” since the / new owners will give them names. If it is a / cat “Foster Cat” if it is a goat “Foster Goat” / and so forth. This little guy was found / at the landfill when about 2 weeks old. Took / him to vet for evaluation and pretty much / shared 24 hour feeding schedule along / with my wife. he is now on puppy food. / We should call him “Chubby Foster Dog” / The photo was taken just as he is ready / to go to clinic to be neutered. After that we / will foster him for 2 weeks and then on to animal / shelter for adoption. He will be adopted quickly, / very mellow puppy. He is what we call / a “Poi Dog” here in Hawaii since we have / no idea of his type or his breed. / He is just a mixture of different dogs.

  • Spay and Neuter Your Robo Pups – This message is brought to you by the SPCRAI (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Robot Animals International). Here’s one for the web nerds. The idea of a neutered robot dog getting a 404 Error for his missing testicles kept floating in my head. I just had to do it.

  • Name: Banjo / Breed: Abyssinian/Bengal / Sex: Male (minus gonads) Likes: Roast chicken, hanging out with me mates, small plastic bottle caps, sun bathing, bird watching, curtain climbing, singing at midnight Dislikes: Scary black dogs, loud children, rocking chairs, showers, dirty litter, closed doors Looking for: Nice girly (spade OK) cat who likes similar things and wants to lay in the sun and groom each other. Sleeping on the big pets pillows a bonus. Must be able to put up with my unruly stepbrother, a scary black dog and very loud children. I do not discriminate on breed, coat type or color. Please leave message below. Serious inquiries only! Banjo

  • This is one of the feral kittens that we had trapped for the trap, neuter, return program from my friend’s apartment complex. She feeds & waters ALL the feral cats. She calls it “kitty patrol” when she walks around the complex making sure they’re all eating (especially the kitties) They are all her babies! In one trip we caught 7 & had them all fixed that day. It was crazy! Phoenix, AZ USA FEATURED in the group All Around The Styles

  • I think this is an important message if anyone is considering getting a cat (or any animal)...So many cats are being brought into shelters everyday, thousands a year are unwanted and one third or more do not make it! / PLEASE it is very important to get your animal spayed or neutered to cut down on the loss of so many…if the shelters can’t take anymore cats in, some people even abandon and leave their cats on the street to fend for themselves. *All proceeds of sales are donated to the Hope Animal Shelter

  • I Rescued A Human Today. Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn’t be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn’t want her to know that I hadn’t been walked today. Sometimes the overworked shelter keepers get too busy and I didn’t want her to think poorly of them. As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn’t feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone’s life. She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well. Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes. I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven’t walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one. I rescued a human today.
