  • gnaw @ skull

  • This was taken Trogir in Croatia. / It was pretty poor day weather wise and this place had a eerie feel about it.

  • This is the Temple Church in Bristol. / Temple Church is so-called because the original church was built by the Knights Templar. The Templars, a society of soldier-monks, was formed during the time of the Crusades to defend the Holy Sepulchre and guard pilgrims travelling to Jerusalem. They had been granted land across the Avon from Bristol by Robert, Earl of Gloucester in the mid-12th Century. HDR and colour work in PS. Comments welcome! Thanks, / Al

  • Nurble was your normal nervous Nurblet, but even Nurble’s nervousness was needless. The numerous gnoshing Neblums that normally nourished on the Nurblets hadn’t been noticed in nearly nine years. Nevertheless the Neblums were nowhere near extinct, just nearby napping. The Neblums napped and napped, never waking until nearly a decade elapsed, but then watch out….

  • ..enter the incomparable Kingdom of God….where he sent His Holy Spirit to a blessed virgin called Mary….. and the story unfolds…. Ave Maria ........All proceeds to charity wateraid.org first experimental digital painting on my Tablet in Corel….......This lovely story by kind permission of Marie SharpMarie.............. God’s wings…... After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno’s damage. / One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of the tree. Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother’s wings. / The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown away to safety, but had refused to abandon her babies. / Then the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body, the mother remained steadfast….because she had been willing to die so those under the cover of her wings would live. / He will cover you with his feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge. / Psalm 91:4Being loved this much should make a difference in your life. / Remember the One who loves you and then be different because of it. / This was shared with me by a Christian friend. Pass this along to whom you wish peace, love, joy and prosperity. People come into our lives for a reason…. ...

  • If you can’t laugh at yourself, well. . . I did this self-portrait at a time in my life when I was feeling a bit crazy about my future. I’d had a bad run of luck, and was talking to a friend about it. During the conversation I had this image pop into my mind of myself loading up with lucky rabbit’s feet and still turning lemons. Here’s the final result. Original ptg.: 16” x 20” / acrylic on canvas board artist’s collection

  • A great T-shirt for sea dwelling mobsters.

  • As is, taken on January 11, 2009 with as Olympus FE-340 We’re so close my reflection can be seen in the eye I didn’t use flash, but the sun behind me makes it look like the camera is using flash. This squirrel out of the blue climbed my leg. I looked down at it; it climbs down and looks away as if going “I didn’t do it” as my shadow lurks over it. Then it ran behind me and tried to climb my knapsack. Then it spiraled up a pole in front of me, poped its head to the side going Peek-a-boo! Yes the above pic is the same little guy :) After it climbed down the pole I brought my hand out to it. It grabbed one of my fingers, then took off.

  • The wild wood duck is among the most beautiful of waterfowl in my opinion. It is a very shy bird, hard to photograph, elusive and always one edge. I managed to photograph this one in Baton Rouge on a lake near LSU; it didn’t give me much time nor did it move away entirely from obstructing vegetation, but I was still happy to get the results I did.

  • D300

  • Did anyone ever see that film “Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown” otherwise known as,”Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios” (which does sound a lot cooler). Well this pic reminds me of that film, hence the title. Ink pen and watercolour on cheap watercolour paper. The pen kept ripping up the cheap textured paper so the pen strokes are quite raggedy. Need some Arches smooth!! /

  • I’m sure there are others of you who sometimes feel as if you are truly alone…and like you don’t really belong anywhere….That’s the kind of feeling I was trying to convey with this compilation.

  • First Encounter and the Little Question of: Why Me?

I am so nervous! My heart is playing Chopin / within my clammy, / collapsible throat; / threatening to stop if I / reach / down / to gra…

This was written in July of this year, right before meeting the love of my life for the very first time. More of this to come. ;) / BUT, I wrote this on the plane on the way to meet him (we had met, of course, within words many O’ many a time – novels and novels of words!) but never in person; a very nervous occation, indeed, as you may imagine! / anyway…I am very insecure, and question myself constantly – as in “Why would anyone feel this way about me?” that feeling is so wrapped up in my past, at times, it is like a vice-grip, unable to untangle itself… As for “him”...the rest, as they say, was history (like I said, more of this to come soon)... / today is a rainy day here…hence the miriad of posted poetry. Hope nobody minds. :)
