Watercolor on watercolor board, original available. This painting is about empowerment, knowing one’s own worth, honoring oneself but respecting others as well. Its about having confidence in one’s abilities yet keeping the heart open. A closed mind gradually contracts and narrows, the open mind expands and illuminates. I intend this painting to convey the following message to anyone looking at it.: May Goddess light illuminate the very core of your being, may your heroine’s light shine forth. May this light ignite inner strength, and inspire bravery in all circumstances. May you walk the path of peace, the most difficult and challenging journey of all, with purpose and grace. A small tannin stained creek on the edge of the Tarkine in north-west Tasmania spills its way toward the sea. / The colouring is a natural stain that comes out of the heath and melaleuca vegetation. This stained water is very common in Tasmania and is some of the sweetest water I have ever drank. / When the water is shallow with a sand bottom it is a beautiful sepia tone and as it gets deeper it turns black. / When it hits turbulence it whitens the same as any water does and gives a myriad sepia shades depending on the level of turbulence. / Nikon D-40 with a Nikkor AF-S 18-200mm zoom / Focal length 20mm Exposure 0.62 secs @ f 20 & ISO200 No Flash featured in Natural Colour & Light group 24th March 2009 / featured in Waterfall Photography November 2008

Located near Portesham village in Dorset, England, on the highest point of the Blackdown area is Hardy’s Monument. There are excellent views of the Dorset coast from this location. / This is not a memorial to the poet Thomas Hardy – it is to Vice Admiral, Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy (1769 – 1839). Hardy lived in the nearby village of Portesham. During the battle of Trafalgar in 1805, Hardy served as Lord Nelson’s flag captain. / The monument is 72 feet high.

Cape Nelson Lighthouse – Portland, Vic. / A full blown storm coming in here. I rushed out of the car to get some shots before the hail started. I could hardly stand up in the buffeting wind and actually suprised I got some shots as the camera was tripod mounted and around 1/4 sec. exposures. 3 shot hdr. No lightening at this stage, but of course, I get back in the car and driving down the road, the whole sky was lighting up and started to glow pink. By that time though, the rain and hail started so no point in going back. Taken earlier this year in our Winter…thanks for looking…rgs, Rob.
