The maneki neko is a popular Japanese sculpture that is believed to bring good luck to its owner. Often used in businesses – A raised left paw attracts customers while a raised right paw supposedly attracts money. Also know as the Money Cat it is a symbolic ornament that offers people hope that they will achieve wealth and success. We all know that these ornamental pieces don’t directly produce what they promise. What they do offer is a symbol that you can look at when your feeling beaten. Having one in a highly visible place can give you a constant beacon of light that makes you persevere on something that may at times feel too hard. I like to doodle during boring lectures back in school.. And i came up with Yuriko-chan! I don’t really know what species she is.. It’s like a cat mix with a raccoon? Oo” / / Yuriko-chan loves to play in the snow and she always has lil flowers to offer, hidden in her lil pocket.. Yuriko-chan’s normally cute and friendly, but if someone steps on her tail, she’d brandish her deadly claws in no seconds!! The Gentoo Penguin is listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red list of Threatened Species Melting sea ice and overfishing have triggered a dangerously rapid decline in penguin populations on the Antarctic peninsula – a direct result of global warming, warns a new report from the WWF. Temperatures on the frozen continent are rising five times faster than the global average due to the unprecedented rate of climate change, pushing four species perilously close to extinction. Warmer temperatures are forcing penguins to raise their young on increasingly thinner and more precarious ice floes, while stronger winds mean many eggs and chicks are being blown away from their parents before they are able to survive on their own. The gentoo, chinstrap and adélie – along with the emperor, the largest penguin species in the world – are now struggling to survive as melting sea ice destroys nesting sites and reduces vital food sources, such as krill.

Featuring another stray cat.. This one lives near the Tekka Market.. pretty big cat who’s almost always found sleeping… and when he sleeps, he sleep like the dead.. i’d call and call and he’d still be sleeping.. once, i saw him sleeping in the middle of a ramp and this lady just slowly pushed him aside with her legs and he’s STILL sleeping.. i was sure he’s sleeping cos he later changed position while remaining asleep at the side of the ramp..
