In honor of the efforts of Kathleen and her groups’ Art Blog for Peace, where we blog our hearts out for 2009 in Peace, here is my contribution… “Peace has to be created, in order to be maintained. It is the product of Faith, Strength, Energy, Will, Sympathy, Justice, Imagination, and the triumph of principle. It will never be achieved by passivity or quietism.” Dorothy Thompson My Peace Blogs: PEACE CANDLES Writing4Peace Alliance for a new Humanity Tribute to Peace MUSIC Happy New Year – 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gaia is our only home, and the key to her future lies in our hands. If we sustain her well, we can keep her doors open to reveal her beauty, and invite the neighboring sunlight to accompany us. I used my Sun behind the clouds as the background for this piece This work has been featured in: / Current Issues
UNTOUCHED…........A gentel and golden morning at a melting lake waiting for spring…L’Achigan lake near my home /
A macro shot taken of a wild fern frond growing from the neighbor’s side of the fence into my yard. Taken Friday June 13/08. I thought the old proverb was appropriate in these circumstances. Top ten placement in the Caught in Fences challengr for The Woman Photographer group. April 2009
You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:39 (Neighborly birds are a tufted titmouse and a warbler).

Took this at Rochor.. Love the colors of the flats (apartments) there.. They’re colored Yellow, Green, Red and Blue.. My second workplace, over at Sim Lim Tower, once allow me have a great top view of that neighborhood area.. We can see both the sunrise and especially the sunset.. I miss that place.. Here in the tiny island of Singapore, we have so many households living together in a building.. and yet sometimes, people don’t even recognize their neighbors.. This was taken an hour plus before sunset..

Shot taken through my bedroom window. Happened to be on the floor playing with Frankie and noticed this ice crystal formation on the window. Behind it is the light on the right side from the setting sun and right in the middle is the outline of the front neighbor’s house, with sky again to the left. / This is pretty much straight from the camera with a little bit of contrast added. Tuesday January 6th 2009. / My apologies for the dirty window but it is that time of year… Featured in Nirvana group February 2009
Sun was well “awake” and the fog was in no hurry to leave…
The people that live in this house go so all out for Christmas that they decorate their ENTIRE home, including the front, back & side yards, EVERY room inside, closets, hallways, kitchen, foyer, patio, swimming pool, roof, & even the garage door & driveway! There are at least 250-300 trees each decorated with a different theme &/or style! Lights upon lights upon lights upon lights! Every possible Xmas decoration you could imagine & then so many more that you hadn’t! They open their house to anyone & everyone to come inside for a free tour and they greet you in elf costumes! They do accept donations as their electric bills go through the roof during this time but they do not ever ask or hint around or even imply that you should at all. There’s a donation box located at the begining of the tour that’s it & it really doesn’t stand out much especially in comparison to the rest of the place! We’ve been going for about 3 years now & we tell anybody & everybody we can about it & where it’s at so they can go too. It really is an amazing display much more so than I can ever even describe. These people are truly beautiful people & they obviously love to spread joy to those all around them. Oh I forgot ~ they do have a very small room that has some small souvenirs you can purchase but no real big supplies of anything & a few different flavors of candy canes maybe. But that room doesn’t have any lights or props whatsoever to grab your attention like the rest of the house does. I can’t say what their motives are for doing this every year for total strangers who may or may not give a little bit for letting them come into their home but from what I’ve seen it’s not for the profit. Bless their very generous hearts!
this driveway is actually my neighbors drive, the lighting, sky, everything was just right, dont know..just had to shoot it. i shot this in black and white, and i did shoot one in color also

This swan reminded me of Mark Antony, preaching on the death of Ceaser. This shot was taken at the pond behind Fidelity Investemts in Merrimack NH. / They seem to attract quite a few water foul all year round.
The back of the Army & Navy store, they must have an interesting view.

I’d like to dedicate this image to Jesika whose flights of imagination have inspired me and nudged me to try my own whimsical antics. Jesika, I was thinking of you and Jim who celebrates his birthday tomorrow while I was putting this together! I used the PS selection tool to select the eagle; then I copied it and pasted into the aircraft shot. / The eagle photo was taken this past weekend along the Louisiana bayous and the jet image was taken a couple of summers ago when I flew to visit my daughter and her family in Oklahoma. I thought I’d put the two together in a fun and fanciful stretch of imagination that wonders “What if we were neighbors in the sky?” On a similar note, I’d like to thank you, Jesika and Jim, for being Neighbors on the Planet. Though we are far away, I’m enriched by our acquaintance and growing friendship. The call on Christmas Day was a treat beyond words and the talk of the dinner table with family and friends! We felt like we were sharing an international Christmas, thanks to your hospitality across the miles! Happy Birthday, Jim! May the Lord give you the exhilaration of flight on your special day, January 14! Thanks, Jesika, for being my inspiration for this flight of fancy!
