I took this for World-wide knit in public day last week. I can’t knit, it’s way too hard, but it would have been criminal to pass up the opportunity to take a photo of a Lego Stormtrooper.

My new found love in photography is mixing layers and layers of images. I have already had some wonderful finds of layered work in reflections but this kind of editing brings it to a whole other level. Finding what works well with another image is a challenge. But one that I enjoy very much. I have learned the in’s and out’s of working with layers by trial and error. If you’re thinking of giving this a try, I hope you will give your self time and not worry about the failures. The result is so worth the frustration of figuring it all out!! / / WOW, THANK YOU FOR THE HOME PAGE FEATURE!!! /

This rock formation at Canon Beach, Oregon, is known as “The Needles”. It is right next to a large rock known as “Haystack Rock” so these are the needles in the haystack. Canon XSI (450D). We held a spouse-macro-off in the continuing foggy ice and hoar frost this dark wintry afternoon. Armed with my D200 and my headlamp, and my mate with his D300 and the speedlight held remotely, we compared. I voted for his.
