The sunshine of a late October morning in 2007 turning a forest lane near Laage Vuursche in the Netherlands into a miracle world of pure bliss. Near Laage Vuursche, 22nd October 2007, 10.40 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 55 mm / F 8, 1/100, ISO 500 This shot appeared on the Home Page of Redbubble. / Chosen as avatar in the group “Happy Haven Photography” in March 2009.
At this particular spot the morning-light show on that July morning a few days ago here in the forests near Hilversum/The Netherlands was at its best, when the sunbeams were chasing the morning ghosts. After which trees were they hiding? – I was ever so lucky to find this place in time, as this show was a fleeting appearance. Proposed for “Pay if forward” (http://www.redbubble.com/groups/pay-it-forward) / by Byron. Near Laage Vuursche, 24th July 2008, 7,15 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 48 mm / F 10, 1/30, ISO 200

I’ve bought six new IKEA glasses but one of them got broken when I washed it for the first time. Of course, I wouldn’t just throw it away, as well as my daughter couldn’t throw away a Camellia blossom she has found fallen at the ground two days later… / I believe these two imperfect subjects made a perfect combination. What do you think?
This photo is taken at the Olmense Zoo (Olmen, Belgium). / Don’t you just love their cute look (claws and teeth not included) (: A quick bio on these beautifull creatures: class: Mammalia (mammals) / order: Carnivora (carnivores) / family: felidae (felines) / genus: puma They go under the names Puma, Panther, Mountain Lion, American Lion and Cougar etc…. The cougar holds the Guinness record for the animal with the highest number of names, presumably due to its wide distribution across North and South America. It has over 40 names in English alone!!! Being the largest of the small cats, they are slender and agile cats. / And although they resemble the domestic cat, they are about the same size as an adult human, with a maximum of about 3 metres!! An adult paw print is approximately 10 cm… that’s 4 inches! The gray wolf and the cougar compete more directly for prey, especially during the winter. While individually more powerful than the gray wolf, a solitary cougar may be dominated by the pack structure of the wolves. / Wolves can steal killings of the cougar and occasionally kill the cougar as well. Cougars (as well as other cat-likes) deserve respect and admiration from all humans! They may look like domestic cats, but are none the less wild animals living on survival instincts only!
Here another shot from my trip through the autumnal forest near Laage Vuursche on the foggy morning of last Tuesday. It certainly was one of the best fog days of this autumn up till now. But fortunately there was no headless horseman around. Near Laage Vuursche, 4th November 2008, 10.14 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 38 mm / F 8, 1/30, ISO 400
FLANDERS FIELDS / The only postprocessing is some contrast added. Taken trough a steamy window that was a little dirty. Nabij Ieper. Niet veel photoshop. Enkel maar wat contrast verhoogd. De foto is genomen van uit een stal door het bedampte raam. De druppels dropen eraf.
This is a breakfastscene. Ceasar from next doorneighbourswall looking in on our breakfast. I liked the engergy in this shadow.

The Erasmusbrug (“Erasmus Bridge”) is a cable stayed bridge across the Nieuwe Maas river, linking the northern and southern halves of the city of Rotterdam, Netherlands. / The Erasmusbrug was designed by Ben van Berkel and completed in 1996. The 808 metre long bridge has a 139 metre-high asymmetrical pylon, earning the bridge its nickname of “The Swan”. The southern span of the bridge has a 89 metre long bascule bridge for ships that cannot pass under the bridge. The bascule bridge is the largest and heaviest in West Europe and has the largest panel of its type in the world. The bridge was officially opened by Queen Beatrix on September 6, 1996, having cost 165 million Dutch guilders (about 75 million euros) to construct. Shortly after the bridge opened to traffic in October 1996, it was discovered the bridge would swing under particularly strong wind conditions. To reduce the trembling, stronger shock dampers were installed. The bridge was featured in the 1998 Jackie Chan film Who Am I? In 2005 several planes flew underneath the bridge as part of the “Red Bull Air Race”. In 2005, the bridge served as the backdrop for a performance by Dj Tiësto titled “Tiësto @ The Bridge, Rotterdam”. The performance featured fire fighting ships spraying jets of water into the air in front of the bridge, a fireworks barge launching fireworks beside the bridge, and multi colored spot/search lights attached to the bridge itself. source wikipedia Taken with a Nikon D70s with a Sigma 18-200mm on a Manfrotto 055XPROB with a 804RC2 head.
This morning we had the right sort of weather again to go and search for sunbeams. And indeed I did find some beautiful ones on the grounds of the country-house Gooilust in ’s-Graveland. Just as Groeneveld in Baarn it has a beautiful park. ’s-Graveland, 13th November 2005, 10.49 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 at 50 mm / F 20, 1/30, ISO 400

THis is Falcon, laying on a pillow in the coutch, in our house, with little or no light coming in.. afterwards I made it a little darker in photoshop, just a little little bit… to give it that little something extra.. You all know he’s my special little guy, ‘cause he had such a difficult start in life, but thanks to a lot of love and energy he pulled through and now (at the age of 2) he’s a healthy and energetic cat. I’ve written a story in him and posted it at my “writings”. camera: Sony alpha 100 / specs: nothing specific, just clicking the button and made the photo :) / had to put the camera on a standard, because of the long shutter-time, because there was hardly any light coming in … and couldn’t use the flash, ‘cause than the whole shadow-feeling would have been ruined..
