  • A house in Medicine Park, Oklahoma

  • I went to the Veteran’s Admin today for an appointment. I’ve been there lots of times. Today, it seemed, there were an awful lot of American Veterans in wheelchairs. It struck me. Then, on the way out I saw this sign. I’m sure it isn’t the first time I’ve seen it, but that’s what it felt like. Born out of necessity. Sincere thanks to all war veterans of every country!!!

  • The majestic fowl was perched in my back yard watching my chickens . I had to run him / her off , I couldn’t take the chance .

  • For Mr. Kloepping ~ Hobbit Hut for me… outhouse for you…. : ) I saw you had started a series and decided not to comment on them until I could add this for you…. Hope you like it. I was a little bemused by the ‘angel’ sculpture at the door…. but decided not to inquire… some things are best left to the imagination of the viewer. LavenderMoon~

  • Boots and saddle sitting on a ledge inside the old Truscott Bank Building, Knox County, Texas. The building is now the office to the Circle Bar Ranch – an amazing bit of history preserved in this quiet, isolated community. Taken from a second story loft – the ledge is above the front entrance. Taken with a Canon D30 on automatic mode. Grayscaled for ambience, unsharp mask & 3D Render Transform filter applied.

  • Mothers are biological necessity but fathers are social inventors. And we ? of course the invention! This T shirt is actually made for all those fathers! They must be proud ;-)

  • This is a shot of the nice “privies” they have at the State Park:River-Styx here in Ohio. I think they are very rustic- “pretty”! They blend in well with the wood of the trees. Kind of a “Happy” Little secret sanctuary to relax and tend to business safely. I thought it made a cute picture.—Told you I had an odd sense of humor…Tee-hee. :D This shot shows only one of several through out the Park.

  • Must haves for the weekend!

  • Camp necessity to keep us from burning our camera trigger fingers. Nikon D80 / 1/60 sec / F/5 / 165 mm / ISO 200

  • My mother taught me to sew. / There was a time when one HAD to know how to sew to survive, but now it’s often perceived as a quaint craft. Hardly any of my friends could sew a button on, let alone create a whole garment. I am forever grateful for what my mother taught me, and understand the importance of keeping this skill alive for future generations. • “Whatever is beautiful is beautiful by necessity.” / ~ Pindar

  • said a lot of creepie crawlies. I’d think I’d rather spend a night in a haunted house than sleeping overnight in this one. Seen just off the road in Necessity, Texas, a place you are likely not to find on the map. Stuff people always want to know: / Taken with a Canon EOS Rebel XTi with my Sigma DG 28-300mm lens set at 58mm and settings at f/5.6; 1/60th sec.; ISO160 Original JPG image then copied to make 5 identical images, Photomatrix Pro 3.2 set exposures at +2 to -2 Color correction and very slight Orton effect applied

  • A nice little bit of knowledge in case one is ever in need of toilet paper…...this is safe to use. / This plant, found today at the base of an old fence post on my fvorite farm property, is called Wooly Mullein, Velvet Leaf, Flannel Leaf, and many other names. / Although not native to the US…it has integrated it’self voraciously. This beautiful ‘bloom’ was found at the base of this old lichen-covered fence post of an abandoned apple farm in NE Kansas. / Thank goodness it’s soft and not toxic.
