  • The Warrior Within
    by WayoftheWarrior

    US$3.42–US$91.20

I am a gentle creature from time to time. But there is another side. So YOU want to mess with my pack, my friends. You have judged the cover without knowing the heart. So here I was in my den taking it easy and minding my own business. Then my inner spirit spoke to me and said something was wrong. I felt it inside and I was right. So I am waiting, and when the time is right. Now you have awakened the Warrior within, mess with one, mess with us all. Yeah this look is for YOU! Remember it, because the next time you will not see my face. Cheer up Selina!!!

This is another version of Smith Falls on the Niobrara River in Nebraska. You don’t find a lot of waterfalls on the prairies but this one is worth pulling over for.

  • Where Time Stands Still
    by Dawne Olson

    US$3.42–US$91.20

I’ve been to Eppley airfield in Omaha Nebraska several times. I never stopped to look closely at Carter lake which lies on the other side of the street to the terminal entrance. Today while bringing my Canadian friend to Omaha for his return flight to Ottawa, we decided to “drive through” and check out this small lake with the outline of the city as a backdrop before saying farewell. Walking over the small knoll in the parking lot, we were met by an enormous expanse of water lilies – of a kind I have never seen before in my life. Cameras and tripods were at the ready, and we spent quite a bit of time photographing the area before suddenly realizing that we had not checked the time for several minutes. The sudden awareness of a possible missed flight threw us into a frenzy of gathering up equipment and rushing across the street. Flushed from the heat and with the images from the previous hour forgotten, I waved goodbye to my friend as he jogged down the long hall toward his departure gate. Hours later, I opened my files on my camera to find these beautiful lilies and a bittersweet joy flooded my heart as I realized how precious are the times when time stands still. / /

  • Night Stream
    by Dawne Olson

    US$3.42–US$91.20

I spent a night in a photo blind at the edge of the Platte river in order to photograph the Sandhill cranes. The birds are very wary and this was one way to hopefully get a better vantage point as they came in to roost in the evening. I was discouraged at first that the night of my reservation proved to be very cloudy and by the time the majority of the birds had come to rest on the sandbars it was mostly dark. Determined to go away with whatever I could get, I set my camera for a longer shutter speed and was really pleased to capture both the motion of the current and the slow graceful movements of the birds as they preened and waded in the shallow water. I can’t imagine a more beautiful place to be in early Spring when the Sandhill Cranes migrate by the hundreds of thousands and use this 80 mile stretch of shallow river as their safe haven while they rest, gain weight for their long flight, and establish life long partnerships through elaborate dance. / /

  • Sunset View
    by angelandspot

    US$3.14–US$83.60

Your righteousness is like the great mountains; / Your judgements are a great deep; / O Lord, You preserve man and beast. ~Psalm 36:6 / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / This is the Platte River in Nebraska. It was once a mile wide and a foot deep. But man’s actions have changed that. With all the irrigation it is only a few inches deep in some spots and is no where close to being a mile wide. It really is a sad sight to see. I dream of a day when we can hopefully make changes for the better. Kansas and Nebraska are in legal battles over the water rights. I really enjoyed seeing all the Sandhill Cranes migrate here in the spring but during summer, fall, and winter it is such a depressing site with no wildlife to be found and barely any water.

  • Crane Sunset
    by Dawne Olson

    US$3.42–US$91.20

The best place in the world to be in March: The Platte river near Gibbon, Nebraska when the Sandhill cranes migrate. Every evening they fly in – hundreds of thousands – to roost on the sandbars in the shallow river. In the morning, at dawn, they will lift off in unison. It is one of the greatest spectacles, and sounds I’ve witnessed.

  • I’ve been looking over some photos I took last May while I was in Nebraska. My Uncle lives just a few miles from this area of the lake but his house is across the highway and railroad tracks of the lake. Pretty view!

  • ‘Bear Track’ is from a petroglyph in Nebraska, representing one of the most important of all animals to the Native Americans. The bear for them symbolized courage & strength. I am making a sincere effort to present these designs as they originally appeared, with a wee bit of stylizing on my part. This series of tees is intended to honor the ancient ones and the art they left behind for us.

  • Amish Buggy Barn

    US$3.42–US$91.20

A barn in Nebraska. The plains of America.

  • The largest congregation of Sandhill Cranes takes place along an 80 mile stretch of the Platte river near Gibbon, Nebraska. While stopping over during late April and March, the cranes will forage on nearby cornfields adding critical weight for the long flights ahead … some for destinations as far away as Siberia. The cranes also use this time to form strong pair bonds expressed through elaborate dance. The interaction between these two is only one of many “poses” I captured during a dance that lasted probably ten or fifteen minutes. /
