  • I’m not sure about this one so I’d like your feedback, please. / / These steps are located in Darling Harbour, Sydney. They are one of the many water features in the area. / / It was really hard to get a good shot of them…this was the best one that I could come up with. It was a really bright and hot day so I used a polarising filter, an ND4 filter and an ND8 filter to try and get a longer exposure. / / Camera: FujiFilm FinePix S7000 / ISO200 / f/8 / 1/5 sec exposure / On my hands and knees getting strange looks from lots of tourists who were just prepared to stand over them and snap away..lol / / / /

  • One of the many junks on Ha Long Bay who take tourists out to this magnificent place. Taken with a Canon 400D and ND4 grad filter.

  • Taken on Ha Long Bay from the side of the junk our group stayed on, everytime I look at this pic I think of Jurassic Park! Taken with Canon 400D and nd4 grad filter Click here for my other seascapes

  • After arriving at the beach after work I started walking to the point but couldn’t resist taking a snap of this bucket that just happened to be sitting on the shore. There wasn’t even any people around so I wondered how it had got there… Processed in Adobe Lightroom 2 only, experimented with the new adjustment brushes which are coooool! Used Cokin ND4 grad and circular polarising filters, taken with a Canon 400D Click here for my other seascapes Featured in the Selective Colouring Group in January 2009 Featured in the Canon DSLR Group in January 2009 Featured in the All About Water group in January 2009

  • As I was waiting for the sun to set I couldn’t resist but take some shots of the reflections in the large rock pools near the point. The sunset ended up being quite average on this occasion so these shots are all I really came home with. The white clutter under the beacon is a large flock of seagulls. Taken with a Canon 400D with ND4 grad and circular polarising filters. Exposure was 8 seconds @ f22. Click here for my other seascapes

  • A corolla winding its way down the Lake Mountain Road back towards Marysville in Victoria’s Yarra Ranges. Taken with my Canon 40D… finally! Processed in Adobe Photoshop CS and Lightroom 2. Sales 1 Matted Print Featured in the Transport group on the 15th of April 2009 On Saturday the 7th of February my family lost our home away from home at Marysville, as well as our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and our Abyssinian cat. My condolences go to anyone who also lost family, friends or property on this terrible weekend, and I know deep down that Marysville will be back and better than ever, in the near future… Click here for my other photos of cars! • After a heavy but common short shower, the sky cleared up to show us its glorious purple blue colors. Click click click click click….

  • This is the S.S. Speke shipwreck at Kitty Miller Bay, Phillip Island. I woke up early to come see the sunrise here on Saturday morning but the whole sky was overcast, there was no colour at all and the tide was way too far out. I ventured back on Easter Sunday and thought it might look good with the afternoon light so I put on every filter I owned to try and get a long exposure. Taken with my Canon 40D and Cokin P-series filters. Two ND4s and a polarising filter to bring out that colour. • Remains of a pier at Cat Bay, on the North West side of Phillip Island not to far from the famous Nobbies and Penguin Parades. I thought this spot would be best at high tide which unforunately fell in the middle of the afternoon but thankfully some sun rays started to burst through the clouds over head creating a nice picture, and yes I got very wet feet. Taken with my Canon 40D with polarising, Grad and ND filters to lengthen exposure. • This one was taken at popular surfing spot Cat Bay on the North West coast of Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia. Got here with the hope of getting some nice long exposures of the high tide coming in and then the clouds opened up… Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens as well as poalrising, graduated and ND filters. • A collection of images taken over the Easter weekend at Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia. Phillip Island is about an hour and a half drive South-East of Melbourne. Places shown include famous landmarks such as the Nobbies, Cowes jetty, Pinnacles at Cape Woolamai and S.S. Speke shipwreck just to name a few.

  • Under the pier at Cowes, Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia at Dawn. Taken at the same time as Beginning of a new day for something a little bit different. It was pretty chilly, windy and way too early in the morning for me, it’s amazing how much lens distortion you get with a wide angle lens! / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm EF-S. FL: 10 mm 25 seconds @ f16, ISO 100 No filters Adobe Lightroom 2 & Adobe Photoshop CS4 Sales 1 Greeting Card Featured in the Wall Art section of RedBubble on April 14th 2009 _ Featured in the Technical Photography Group on the 11th of May 2009_ One of the photos in my Phillip Island series, please click here to see the rest of my images in the series

  • This is a rose from Sacramento’s California’s Capitol Park Rose Garden. It was taken in full sunlight using a ND4 (neutral density) filter to limit a lot of the light coming into the Nikkor 18 – 105mm lens. By doing to, there was little editing after the shot, resizing and a bit of cropping. I’m not always fond of using this filter unless I can’t get fine definition to show well between changes in the aperture and exposure offset. But when it works, it can give you a chance for The Shot that you weren’t going to get otherwise. The Nikon D90 was the weapon of choice when the Panasonic TZ4 decided it wasn’t going to take macros when asked. I brought it with me today and restricted it to hanging around my neck in the case as punishment. It promised not to be a jerk in the future so I let it shoot my arm with a yellow-faced ladybug on it but the damned bug either decided to bite me or start rooting around for something between skin cells. The Panasonic’s aim was off a bit and I couldn’t check it before I was unfairly eaten.

  • Again, the Nikon D90 on the “flowers/close-up” setting with the neutral density filter and the Nikkor 18-105mm lens. Just a hint of softening was added to help blend the contrast in the flower’s colours. Not that I thought I could do better than He did but the sunlight made them appear harsher in the image than on the bush. ;-) Taken in Sacramento’s Capitol Park rose garden (the park also containing a lot of politicians in a big, white house).

  • Misty haunting morning this morning, sitting in a pine plantation at Mt Burr in the Limestone Coast area of South Australia. Last hints of fog lifting as the sun rose towards a clear blue sky. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with ND4 filter. Three shot HDR converted in Photomatix and cropped to size. Damn it was cold!!!!!!!!!!

  • Woke up at 4:40 am and drove down to Cape Schanck hoping to get at least one shot and this was the one (or 5 seeing it’s a stitch). Got here around 6:00 am and had the whole place to myself. It was pretty rough but thankfully not too windy. For anyone who plans on going here make sure you know the tide times, and have adequate footwear! Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens, 5 shot stitch in Adobe Photoshop CS4. Used two ND4 grad filters as I don’t have any ones darker than an ND4, hence the reddy colour as well. Better viewed large! Click here for my other seascapes

  • Composition created especially for our own Karirose, who likes those off-centre shots 100% more. LOL! Nikon D90, 18-105 Nikkor lens, neutral density #4 filter, f-8, ex:1/200, focal length: the full 105mm, metering:pattern, ISO: 200

  • Out early this morning to watch the sun rise through the fog in a pine plantation at Mt Burr – Limestone Coast South Australia. Certainly worth the cold to see the beauty as the sun tried to force its way into the forest. Natures strength showing the small re-growth forcing its way up amidst the towering trees. Canon 400D 18 – 55 with ND4 filter. Processed in Photoshop CS3.

  • Early morning three shot panorama – Noora Basin, between Berri and Renmark in the Riverland of South Australia. This backwater is an evaporation basin off of the River Murray. The main river itself looks nothing like this and still holds plenty of water to make a visit to the region well worth while. Nothing better – 6.30 am, first hint of sun, great clouds, colours and magnificent dead redgum trees standing silent. Who could want for more!!!!!!!! Canon 400D – 18 -55 lens, CIR polarising filter coupled with ND4. Tripod mounted three shot pano stitched in photoshop CS3.
