I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. This is Grace, and when I first met Grace in April 2007, she was suffering from Chronic Malnutrition. This was taken in December 2007, and the difference is wonderful. The flowers photographed in this image where also from my garden. / Photographing grasshoppers was new to me when I found this little guy in my garden, he was so green and cute I had to try and get a photo of him. / He didn’t sit still for long, I had a few seconds, but when he looked straight at me I knew (hoped) this is going to be very special. On this image I used a Canon Digital SLR with a Canon 100mm macro and of course a very sturdy tripod. / Photographed in the highlands of Tasmania, Australia. / So much fun! No animal was harmed in this photo. After a very long winter (so far) I needed something that sang Spring time is just around the corner! After a lot of fuss, and several hours, in Photoshop and Painter X this is the final result. Every pixel of this piece was re-painted (digitally) by hand. All of the apple blossoms and leaves were created from scratch. As a final touch I added some texture to the piece to give it that last little edge I was looking for.
