  • The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. • Part of the “Out of Place” series exploring the culture / nature divide – our alienation from nature. I find it perplexing just how easily we humans get mesmerised by work that is often intrinsically meaningless and the virtual world which seems mainly mired in trivia. It’s all the more strange when you consider that the bulk of humanity has only lived in cities for less than 100 years. Prior to that, for countless millennia the natural world was all we knew. / I spend hours in the Park and it’s interesting watching the way other people relate to it. For example, this set of falls is literally 1 minute off the main road through the Park. There are 3 sets of fall each more majestic than the one before. And yet the average amount of time that people spend here I’ve noticed is less than than 10 minutes. 10 minutes!! And then off home to get ready for work or to sit down and watch 4 hours of T.V. / I / just / don’t / get / it. / Still – one advantage – fewer people to bugger up my shots. / Anyway this is part of a series attempting to portray this collective psychosis of our species. Yes she is actually sitting there on top of a 30m waterfall – not photoshopped- very brave I thought, though we did take the wheels off the chair so she didn’t go sailing over. • Entitled, “Tracking The Bobwhite”. Artists collaboration between myself and Bunny Clarke. This work has been FEATURED in the “Wolves in Art” group! :) Here is Bunny’s original design that I added my design ideas to: Bunny Clarke’s design When I first started playing around with Bunny’s original design I had another idea in mind, then went in a totally different direction using fall colors. Bunny’s design reminded me of a bobwhite quail’s feathers, so I went from there…...

  • / Digital fine art by Maria Szollosi a.k.a. Mariska / November 2009 / Inspired by Felix Mas Collaborate artwork / – poetry ANAISNAIS / - illustrator Mariska Fairy Nature I’m fairy nature, / Come to collect fall’s leaf wares / to help make a coat. A coat of sunsets, / A last breath of summer’s glow / To wrap up autumn. I disguise myself / Living amongst the woodlands, / squirrels, bugs, birds, bees. Slowly with magic / I single handedly turn / The season’s over; / Sweeping winds and driving rains, / Giving nature rest till spring. I nourish the land. / Autumn’s blanket becomes crisp, / Stark, white, purity, / I contrast, redecorate / New, sleek, sexy, wavy tones. Thank you Anna-Marie for let to share this beautiful poem here.
