The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. Oil Pastel and Acrylic Ophelia dreamed she was on a journey to a foreign land. In that land, she encountered an exotic purple flower with 3 petals. Though strange in appearance,it had the most calming and relaxing scent Ophelia has ever known. Ophelia was most reluctant to leave this flower and its’ scent when she knew her dream odyssey had to come to an end soon. 10×14 watercolor and pastel. Original available. Getting the color right wasn’t a problem BUT.. no matter what I did with those highlights – they weren’t bright enough. It just seemed that they would fade after the paint dried.. enter the pastels! It’s the only thing that saved this piece.. Complete 2008

I suffer from severe arachnophobia, so it was lucky for me that this residence had either been vacated, or its homeowner was in hiding ;) Captured whilst tromping through the Tarkine rainforests today with my gracious host of the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge – Maree. I have mud from head to toe and at least a hundred hours of processing work ahead of me. I am exhausted and yet exhilerated to be embarking on an exciting new project.
