Image of a male Australian Fur Seal(Arctocephalus pusillus),taken at Popes Eye Marine Park.There was a colony of seals in the area many very inquisitive,this big fella got closer than I would have liked a few times.I was fortunate to observe males play fighting & asserting there dominance by slapping there fins on the water & then attacking each other,dont know whether it was stupid to be in amongst it but it sure was one of those magical moments in diving. 100% of all sales of this image will be donated toSea Shepherd Seal Defence © Copyright M.Tworkowski

Another one of the oceans little treasures that has eluded me for some time,this is a Mandarin Fish from the Dragonet family(Synchiropus splendidus) & I could hardly contain myself when i found this little fella.This is a male which was about 5cm & is fully grown.They are very secretive living in small families amongst broken coral in still coastal zones.Image taken in Alor,Indonesia / © All images copyright MattTworkowski 2008

This tiny but beautiful little creature lives on the side of the dock at the marina..it’s from 1/4 to 1 inch long and is hard to find unless you get down on all fours and almost stick your head in the water. Taken with a Pentax waterproof camera.
