Simply put: This is a poem of the wonderous and most beautiful TREE. / This poem is another concrete poem of mine, which means it was written to be in the shape of a tree. but, it seems RedBubble doesn’t hold the image, and places every line left, no matter what i try. I’m still new, maybe there is a way to format it so it holds its shape? anyway, I thought I’d post it anyway, since i like it. :)
Branches of lies are heavy with truths fruits / for how can there be a lie without a truth?

I was working in Italy, Milan for some time and rented a cheap apartment in an old Milan styyle apartment block with a huge noble tree filling the central courtyard with its higher boughs reaching the rooftop level of my place. I would open the shutters at night to cool the place down and leaves would blow in which I collected and brought home with me to the UK. 5 years on one leaf is still with me. I hope the tree is still OK
Nature was alive; bright, glorious and exultant.
It is a little known fact, in the human world, that flowers are actually capable of intelligence…

The title ‘The Functional Forest’ is a play on the term ‘functional foods’, foods that have been modified to contain something additional and beneficial, like more vitamins. A science fiction story exploring the modification of plants for human purposes, inspired by the idea of plant intelligence (a real concept in biology at the moment).
my little stories / tell their secrets….
One hot day, right slap bang in the middle of an Australian summer a few years ago, a little boy got lost in the bush. Unhappily, this is…
You know that beautiful song Nature Boy by Nat King Cole? (... there was a boy … a very strange enchanted boy …) Was listening the other night and thought: Who is this nature boy? What might he look like? And would there be more than one? Plus, I’ve long thought that if Mother Nature was a physical entity, she would be one of those Moreton Bay Fig Trees. They’re obscenely healthy and a bit scary, don’t you think? Thanks to DamienD for the image.
Through the narrow space between the leaves, / A tiny yellow butterfly can be seen / Dancing, flowing here and there casually / In the fores…

A revised version of Two Kings, with many thanks to lightsmith and toxeth o’grady for their feedback on the earlier version. Any further feedback on how to improve would be much appreciated. Poem is a take on the Hume Weir and the dead trees that poke up when the levels get down as in current drought.

A glimpse of the very possible future
The soothing wind / Of August twilight / Caresses our skin / Licks our wounds / Dances upon us / As we roam in bliss / Smile / Rejoice / Revel
The wind rustles the leaves of the tree / As it whispers its wisdom
Sometimes if we take a moment to truly sit in silence, we can be amazed at the wisdom around us. The rustling of the leaves of the tree, may contain more messages it we simply take the time to listen
