The light and water create amazing textures in the sand if you happen to be there when the sun is just beginning to set. Venice Beach, California.

Bipolarity – the balance… As my world is not only made of ominous clouds and rough lands, here I present you a trip to the other side of the spirit, where calmness prevails above everything else… José Ramos
flock of waterfowl fly into a fiery sunset. Taken at Eagle Bluffs CA, near Columbia, Missouri.
A fascinating and beautiful beach on the west coast of Norway. These huge boulders roll in and out when the powerful North Seas waves hit them. It makes an eerie and almost frightening sound.
I took this shot in Bateau Bay, which is part of Central Coast New South Wales Australia. Roughly 2 hours above Sydney. I love the glow of sunsets in wet sand and this, broken by the rocks, formed a scene I just had to capture!

This was another shot from the other day at Sunset. I really wanted to bring out the amazing colors of the sunset and shooting directly at the sun was hard to get a good exposure especially with the standard canon kit lens I was getting a fair bit of lens flare (Cant wait till I my Sigma 10 -20 mm lens). So I bracketed 3 different exposures all 2 stops apart. I used a cokin ND grad filter to try to keep some of the color in the fore ground. / I really liked the contrasting colors in this shot and the tree made a nice Silhouette I then used Photomatrix pro to convert the 3 images into a HDR . Final curves and sat were done in PhotoShop.
The silhouette of a humming bird at sunset.
It’s gone from light to gray / But I’ll move those clouds away / Letting the sun shine through / In this ode to you / Let the demons have their place / If so it’s angels you’ll create / And disguised within the dark / Light will wait / My heart I owe you my soul Dredg – Ode to the Sun

Edited in photoshop CS2. Photography and artwork by Jennifer Woodward © 2008 Note: Among other purchases, I recently bought a card of Elephant Embrace, and I was absolutely delighted with the vibrancy of colour, sharpness and the overall clarity of the image. I was also extremely impressed with redbubble’s choice of high quality, weighty card which offers a glossy, and textured finish. Impressive stuff! / /

This is my niece Alanna.. she rocks my world. I have used her in several of my pieces and this one is for me one of my fav shots. She got my 6 inch boots on one day..(I ended up giving them to her) and she floated around my home as I kept shooting. She wants me to manage her career in Hollywood in a couple of years from now as she knows her Auntie L don’t take no bull. She goes to Cornish University in Seattle Wash. and is awarded a big Scholarship for her abilities as an actress. Which for a school like that are far and few between. She knows where I came from and she trusts me. I trust her. i trust her ability to be young and wrong and dream and live and allow life to show her what the next turn is in the road. I have never ever told her she had or she should do anything. I have told her if she asked me how I solve my problems and what I still can’t seem to do very well. But though my relationship with her I feel more of the youth I still have lurking well within this soul. I love teens and young people. I tend to give them more room than my peers in my head as amazing beings, and this is a mistake. For me anyway. I think we are eternal so age really is all in the settling for a thought that one is about done with growth.. / I love one line I have taken from my Abraham work.. / You Ms. Linaji… Are Never Finished and Life Is Never Done!!

This was originally a photo I took in Botswana, at the Okavango Delta. It was the same sunset cruise that Resplendency was taken at. This was a bit later in the evening, on the way back to our campsite. Thanks to my new found love of texture layering, I was able to transform this photo completely. Tweaking of colour balance and layering a rusted texture with it has given it a more painted look. All done in Photoshop CS4 To me, it epitomises my need to explore the world and discover as much as I can. …this delightful poem I just came across by sweet Sandraellen ...and she has kindly let me compliment this painting ….”Think of me’... as the sun lowers to kiss your sweet face / While the moonlight raises and your many stars parade to illuminate the delicate fabric of your form / Think of me… / When first light of the new day meets your opening eyes / and you revel in the feel of the magic of the now past night and delight in the promise of the new day unfolding / While first conscious thought pervades your awakening and love thrills through your body / Think of me… Phantom of the opera ... ..
Captured in rural Boulder County, Colorado….let me just say this was honest to God unbelievable to photograph. I had to handhold these shots because of my bum knee and well, the lightning was going crazy right above me. But I managed to get some dang nice shots off. This being one of them. I am really happy with this one, I debated about a square crop, but in the end I figured why the heck not, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right folks? An acrylic painting on canvas 60cm x 30cm of the sun setting over the shadowed land. Night is approaching and the sun paints the sky with its sizzling rays in protest of its retreat. A painted memory of a romantic sunset. The sun is setting over the hill / the air is calm the night is still / It paints the sky with its sizzling rays / it retreats for the night until the next day…..
