  • Cute lil ladybug! I really don’t have much to say about this one. I was actually taking some other shots in my garden when this lil cutie scampered up upon a petal and sat there watching me :giggle: Perhaps he was jealous and wanted to be part of the action! / S/he was so small, barely the size of the tip of my lil finger :D © SilverDew All comments are welcomed and appreciated. • History, home ,heart. Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada

  • I can’t think of any good titles right now, haha… but this is a shot from a month ago of a tree in my front yard. The leaves were so intense and gorgeous. Enjoy!

  • I climbed up a steep hill and found the shelflike mushrooms on the sharply angled log making a foreground for the pond and gentle falls in Ottawa Canyon in Starved Rock State Park.

  • Bonnie had never been outside, so I put a little collar & leash on her and brought her out in my parents’ back yard. She was a bit nervous but seemed to enjoy it!

  • A whirlpool caught in a long exposure in a magical place called Illinois Canyon in Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. Camera: Canon 5D / Lens: Canon 24-70mm / Filter: Heliopan thin Polarizing filter / Aperture: f18 / Exposure: 30 seconds Not the type of image I could bracket to capture exactly the same and layer the two together. What I did is save the darker version of this and worked in Curves in Photoshop and lightened it up. Then opened both images up and layered them and removed the light areas by darkening with the eraser/brush tool at about 35% by removing the lighter layer until she looked pretty.

  • Location: Ottawa Canyon in Starved Rock State Park in Utica, Illinois To me this is what it is all about. I’ll give you a brief self analysis on this one. The corner on the left is dark. The underside of the canyon is dark. I could have made it brighter, but chose against it. / I don’t want every part of the image to be fully exposed. I don’t want every corner lit to match the rest of the image. It is the separation of light and dark to create a mood that I love. I am not always after it, but sometimes I get it, and when I do, I welcome it. Why ruin the mood of an image trying to make everything in the same light. Camera: Canon 5D / Lens: Canon 17-40mm / Filter: Heliopan Thin circular polarizer / Aperture: f22 / Iso: 50 / Shutter Speed: 5 seconds / Weather Conditions: Overcast and cloudy / Vehicle that got me here: 1996 Ford Ranger (just thought I’d throw that in for kicks) / Cost of getting the shot: PRICELESS.

  • Photo of a flower blooming from a tree

  • Yeah I know the The old geezer thinks he’s a child now? Well at least on the celestial timetable I’m just a pup! “Star Child” was taken at Cape Spear Newfoundland Canada / http://www.redbubble.com/products/configure/12376450 Camera Model Canon EOS 50D / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 30 / Av( Aperture Value ) 3.5 / ISO Speed 1000 / Lens EF-S18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS / Focal Length 20.0mm / Two flashes.
