  • Richmond Bridge is a lasting symbol of Tasmania’s convict heritage. The sandstone arches of Australia’s oldest known large stone arch bridge have spanned Tasmania’s Coal River since its completion in 1825. Built by convict labour, the Richmond Bridge reminds us of the forced migration that contributed to the development of Australian society. Richmond Bridge was included in the National Heritage List on 25 November 2005.

  • Looking west on a winter morning on Archer Road in Willow Springs, Illinois. My favorite road in Illinois.

  • The second in the Bleeding Hearts series. Okay, so there’s only one so far and I just realized I had enough to make a three-image series. :) I like this one quite a bit. The flowers were almost white to begin with and I just altered the color and added the vignette. Also see Heartstrings.

  • I photographed this majestic blue heron in Point Lobos State Reserve in CA. It is fascinating to watch this bird standing on a floating log, for hours, waiting for the right moment to catch a passing fish. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- I will donate 50% of all proceeds from the sale of this image and the ones below to the American Bird Conservancy Consider these images as companions! / And the T-Shirt below

  • Ok well sometimes I find webs covered in dew or rain but this one was sprayed by yours truly, he didn’t budge and I got the heeby geebies from it ewwwwwh ! This is a macro shot…..........the droplets are macro so the spider must be as well huh? the spider was the size of a nickle or so.

  • Fleabane-Erigeron philadelphicus Plant: Soft-hairy biennial or perennial 15-90 cm tall, from rootstock and runners. Leaves: Blunt-toothed to lobed, 5-15cm long; lower leaves short-stalked, stgem leaves stalkless and calsping. Flowerheads: Rose purplish to white, 1-2.5cm across, with 100-400 slender strap-like florets around a tellow button of tubular florets; flowerheads in branched clusters. Blooms: April to August. Fruits: Seed-like achenes tipped with a tuft of white hairs. Habitat: Various; usually disturbed sites. Distribution: Native from Newfounland to the Yukon to Texas. / Pick: A few Black-eyed Susan- Rudbeckia hirta Plant: Rough-hairy biennail or short-lived perennial 30-100 cm tall Leaves: 5-17 cm long, ovate to narrowly oblong, with winged stalk; upper leave stalkless. Flowerheads: Orange-yellow, 5-10 cm across, with 10-20 golden yellow strap-like florets around a dark purple to brown, 1,2-2 cm wide hemisphere or cone of tubular forets; 1 to few flowerheads.
