This is one of the flowers from my trip to the Zoo. I see the light to you my love its rays come down to me. / I sit an wait for you to come as you smile down on me. / I stumble in my mind each day for one moments hope. / That you will come down from above and kiss me once again. / I wait and wait I see you there your rays give me new hope. / I know your smiling down on me but a kiss is what I want. / I want to feel you in my arms the way I use to feel. / And then look in your stunning eyes and kiss your lips again. / I wait until I go to sleep to come to you each night. / But well aware that this is a dream the pain is twice as bad. / I wish for comfort from this pain that I might live again. / But each night that I go to sleep this dream with you brings pain. / I wake my pillows always stained with tears from missing you. / I wish that it was you that lived and me that should of died.

Photo taken in Vermont in a local forest area. June 10, 2009. The Pink Lady Slipper, or Moccasin Flower, is a wild, rare and endangered orchid that blooms in Spring. Usually the first week of June these can be found in certain locations in the wild. This photo was taken in a pine forest area in Vermont. “Take only pictures, leave only footprints” – (unknown to me at the moment whose statement that is, if anyone knows the direct source, please let me know). / / “Cypripedium acaule is a member of the orchid genus Cypripedium. Members of this genus are commonly referred to as lady’s slipper orchids. First described in 1700, Cypripedium acaule is commonly referred to as the Pink Lady’s Slipper.[2] The Pink Lady’s Slipper is the provincial flower of Prince Edward Island, Canada, and in Nova Scotia, Canada it is considered endangered and is protected by law. If the plant’s blossom does not cycle through, it will not regenerate; for this reason, it is recommended that the flower not be picked. The “Carousel” Spider orchid (Caladenia arenicola). / Photographed at Wireless Hill, Perth 2008. The classic spider orchid, this variety has had a great many names over the years. Commonly just called the King or Red spider orchid, they freely interbreed with the white spider orchid species that grow in the same area.
