Jealousy = “Feeling of grudging admiration and desire to have something possessed by another” I’ve come across a large number of jealousy cases in all the art communities i’ve been. Even from myself. Sometimes you cant help it. You see a great shot and you start thinking “Well… thats easy if you have the equipment”, or “I have a much better shot”, etc etc. Is frustating to see other people triumph when you’re failing. Thank god i havent succumbed so many times to jealousy, but i’ve seen a lot of artists and amateurs that have given up and tear friendship relations apart because of that. The subject is complex. Its human nature wanting to be better, but sometimes you cant expect to better that everyone. Have you ben jealous when seeing somebody else’s picture?

Body of work that is. ;) It is with great pleasure I show you the art that is now in a better place, gone, not to meet their maker, but their founder. The person who will shall the rest of their life-their new admirer. To say it clearly-I have sold some art this year! Rather than tack it into the last journal entry, I’ve decided to make a 2008 sales list. It’ll help me keep track. (mwah ha ha, because it’s wonderfully popular). Yes, it’s great to feel that way sometimes. Often, I go, “that’s nice, achievement made” without really appreciating how awesome that feels. You make art, and if someone else likes it, it is wonderful. I bought an art magazine recently which nominated 50 of the most collectable artists in Australia. I’ve decided I’d like to be on that list. Of course, I’d like to remain anonymous so I can walk down the street, and have an agent…other than that, no clue as to how it will happen, just that I need to keep painting. Anyhoo. I went rollerblading once. It felt so good, I thought I could do this forever. It was like-I’m good at this, I can do it-I’m going fast, not falling over: I could be an olympic racer. Totally normal. Totally human to dream. However dreams require effort. Here are some of the dreams I put into reality, shared with the world and belong in other hands. Saturday was glorious weather the sun was shining and it was warm, and no work yahhhh LOL. Went for an eye test in the morning and then straight on to the vets to finally pick up Louisa. She was so pleased to see up, rubbing and purring against my hand. After settling her in at home away from the other 2 cats, we went to Catherington Down Pond about 10 mins drive from home. Katie had her pond kit that Grahame had given her for her birthday. She’s been itching to use it. We got to the pond and settled down on one of the platforms to see what we could find. Just look at the intense concentration / / Within a few minutes they had a water spider, pond skater, various snails and a damselfly nymph. and then they hit the jackpot and found a dragonfly nymph / Katie was fascinated by the ribbon of snail eggs encased in a protective jelly / and then they found a few damselfly nymphs / When they had finished examining everything, Grahame carefully put it all back into the pond and we went home for some tea. After that we decided to go to The Millpond at West Ashling as Katie wanted to feed the ducks and geese. The geese are peering over the wall waiting for their bread. / We fed the geese and ducks and left to drive home, by now it was about 8-15pm and starting to get dark. I drove along the country lanes and just as we were almost home and passing by the local woods a deer suddenly ran across the road in front of my car, luckily I wasn’t going to fast and I managed to slow right down as another 4-5 deer crossed in front of us. Obviously I didn’t get any photos but wow it was a wonderful sight. So all in all it was one of our better days….............

I couldn’t sleep just now, and went back onto RB, and was surprised to see a sale. Thank you Mar Sillva for buying a card of Naoshima’s Painted Sky Naoshima is quite different from the Yosemite which Mar so often hikes and beautifully photographs, but I find that her love for Yosemite is much like my love for Japan. Though we traveled to different places, I think we’ve shared a similar feeling. This photo of hers especially reminded me of that feeling where she was trying to become “One with” the place she love so much: Cheers to you too Mar, thank you and hope you will enjoy the Naoshima sky as much as I did. It’s kind of funny this happened; I was thinking of Japan a while ago; how I wish I was there now… I will be having some good dreams tonight…

Wow, I just noticed that my macro photograph WAVE has had over 1,429 views. Taken from the bark of an Australian Paperbark Tree, the beautiful shades of blue just popped out after adjusting the contrast. I find taking photos late in the afternoon in the shade seems to accentuate the blue tonal range. I think perhaps one of my fave photos from my portfolio. Perhaps its time to start deleting some of my older photos. Hopefully my work is improving somewhat and there are a few oldies there, that I think, mmmm…”not so great, what was I thinking”.....LOL! GOOD GOD.. / I allowed myself to see a documentery called “The Union: The Business Behind Getting High (2007)” and what a doozy.. It never ceases to amaze me how the stupidity of our far right thinking gets us. We spent more money on arresting and finding growers of marijuana and building jail after jail to house the arrest of these growers and distributors than we do on all the heroin, crack cocaine, meth labs ect all the hard drugs participants combine!! Did you know before 1930’s Hemp was forseen back then as a billion dollar industry!! BACK THEN.. billions of dollars is like now trillions..Holy Cow.. will we ever get out from under our own stupidity and become ENLIGHTENED!!
