My brother, mother, and I went for a ride this morning to get as many photos as we could before our rare, rare snow melted. (The last snowfall we had was in 1988). I thought this scene was exceptionally love, the green and red trees of the usually warm Deep South Louisiana, encased in a blanket of snow. I think Mother Nature decided she’d send the world a Christmas card from Cajun country. Joyeux Noel, mes amis!
Haunt of the Fringe Dwellers © / Vicki Ferrari Photography This was taken on the Gold Coast in QLD, Australia at the Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area, between the board walk (the lake) and the walking path. / I was pretty “chuffed” because I received the highly commended award in the Native Plants Category, in October 2008, in the / Gold Coast City Council Natural Environment Photography Competition, . / The tree itself is a SHEOAK and it is called a fringe dweller because it grows in between the wet and the dry! This area has a sort of ‘magical’ feel, for want of a better description! / I love the Australian Bush! / I am a proud Aussie! AS IS bar minor editing. There is nothing so sturdy or lovely as an oak tree. A simple tee design for those who love nature.
The last glimmer of setting sunlight was lighting up the autumn trees on the far side of Rose Valley Lake. The very active sky was reflecting off of the water’s surface, creating an abstract image of nature’s atmospheric beauty. Rose Valley Lake is located in Gamble Township, five miles east of Trout Run, in north central Pennsylvania. This reservoir is very well managed by the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission. My family has found this to be a perfect place to watch seasonal meteor showers, because the is no “light polution” from bright city lights here. This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 10D using a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L zoom lens set to 55mm. The shutter speed was 1/250th sec. at f/4. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. I have passed this tree for several years now, and finally stopped to take this photo, the clouds and lighting were just right. I darkened it in photoshop, and added the moon, which was taken from a moon shot of mine. /
