The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. 10×14 watercolor and pastel. Original available. Getting the color right wasn’t a problem BUT.. no matter what I did with those highlights – they weren’t bright enough. It just seemed that they would fade after the paint dried.. enter the pastels! It’s the only thing that saved this piece.. Complete 2008

Oil Pastel and Acrylic Ophelia dreamed she was on a journey to a foreign land. In that land, she encountered an exotic purple flower with 3 petals. Though strange in appearance,it had the most calming and relaxing scent Ophelia has ever known. Ophelia was most reluctant to leave this flower and its’ scent when she knew her dream odyssey had to come to an end soon. Some mistakes are for keeps. Everything was right except the focus. / Low Sun, nice shadows, highlights, lines colors and lighting. / I’m not sure what happened here. I could guess, but it doesn’t matter. I am very happy with the result. It’s a keeper! I find it hard to not keep staring at it.
