  • “Seabird In Flight” is about the form of a bird’s airborne movement in relationship with the harmonious contours of the overall landscape. • Just In case You Forgot
    by Charissa May Borroff

Just In case you forgot or just didn’t see / What about that old spectre …

Before my Nanny (Gorgina) Borroff completely lost her ability to speak because of vascular dementia. She fought hard to get across her meaning. It has been heartbreaking trying to try to pick up on what she wanted to say with seemingly random words with desperation. somtimes it felt like if I looked hard enough her efforts felt profound. / strangely after a poetry workshop at her day centre everything she said from that point was then carried with a poetic rythm. similar to the rythm I fell into writing this. I hope I have passed on the meaning I found in her, all of my family and friends and the places I love. This is my first attempt at poetry so please bare with me. Just really had to get something off my chest. You may have noticed that it’s changed a little bit since it first went up but I think I’m done now. I dare you to google an Oil Beetle, it’s not for the faint hearted.

  • Taken in the bush near Alice Springs. Waiting for the sun to come up and saw this dead tree and just had to take a shot with all the colours behind it.

  • Photograph was taken in Annapolis, Maryland and digitally imaged to enhance the majestic nakedness of it’s branches.

  • Pilansburg National Park, Rustenburg, South Africa

  • One of the things I miss most about living in Norfolk is Banham Zoo, especially this chap here. Sam is a beautiful American Bald Eagle and always happy to play up to the camera.

  • It was a rainy day with no hopes of better weather. I sit by the window and watch the drops, falling from the sky. / Moments later, a ray of sunlight hits my face and I see hope, clearing in the thick clouds, of better weather to come. / Rain stops, drops keep dripping. Air is clear and the birds start singing. The evenings light gently warms my cheek as I go outside. It’s August, August Eve. by Sharon Mau

Whatever we project is returned to us because that which we focus on we give power to… it is the power of intention

  • The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is now – anon

  • “Cyclical Strength” refers to the strength from experience. From learning lessons and repeating processes and actions. The strength that comes from living both the ups and downs of this life. And to know that we are meant to accept suffering as well as embrace joy. And to keep in mind that all things are cyclical, and when I feel unstable or confused at a point in my life or day, that all things come around and at that moment I may be confused or unfocused, but soon things will circle around and those feelings will soon pass. This is one of three paintings I made in the same session. I’ve been wanting to make some paintings where the main imagery is black, with bright colors underneath. I wanted to take the type of imagery I make when I doodle and keep that simplicity of form in a painting. So these are my first attempt at that style.

  • When this photo was taken this 65-year old man was on his third cross-country trek. I met him at the Ghost Ranch in north central New Mexico, near the town of Abiquiu. At that point he was 600 miles into what would be a 3100 mile journey through the rugged outback. He has a small build and probably stands just 5’8” or so, but he is sinewy as hell and tough as leather. Pentax K20D
