  • Hiking down Havasu Creek.

  • We spent 3 magical days backpacking at Havasu Falls, one of the most beautiful place on our planet.

  • Best viewed large. / Shot in a small stream in Royal National Park just south of Sydney Australia. / The blueness of this shot is a mystery to me. I’ve noticed that if you shoot moving water just after sunset it does tend to bring out the blue wavelength, especially if you use a polarising filter oddly enough. But I’ve never got this intensity of blue since. I made some adjustments to the curves and levels in PS to accentuate contrast a little but there is no colour manipulation to the water – this is how it came out! The only thing I can think of is that for some reason at that particular time and the particular angle I was taking this shot the auto colour balance in the camera was fooled into boosting the blue wavelength but this still doesn’t make much sense to me. Any other suggestions (short of radioactive material being poured in the water upstream lol)? I’ve actually got some even bluer than this but, quite frankly, they look so over the top it looks like I went nuts with PS so I haven’t posted them. / Shooting info as follows: / Tv 6 secs / Av f29 / ISO 200 / FL 70mm

  • “Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.

  • Emerald Paradise As Is… / Canon PowerShot S3 IS Rainbow Springs Florida’s third largest spring, Rainbow Springs pump 600 million gallons of water daily and serves as the head water to the pristine Rainbow River. The property was acquired by the State Park Service in 1990 and is slowly being allowed to revert to its natural state. / Beautiful floral gardens surround the spring, and the area is immensely popular in the spring when the azaleas are in bloom. The state also acquired Rainbow Springs State Campground, located nearby, which was formerly privately owned. From the campground, you can tube or canoe the crystalline waters of Rainbow River, or fish for large mouth bass and other freshwater species. / A nature trail provides a lovely walk past two waterfalls and the azalea gardens, and meanders along the Rainbow River. / /

  • This is not a black and white shot… / AS IS !!! A small stream near my place…yep,everything is white already…so beautiful… / Nikon D200 / iso 80 / 1/500 sec / /

  • A kind of surreal image of a stream in the winter with a few ps adjustments to give it that surreal look of an image in a dream. I love this stream but the picture itself did not look as good as it could have-I love all the tiny rivers and streams around where I live they always seem so enchanted! The focal length was 21mm, ISO was set at 400 with an f/8 aperture and shutter speed of 1/30 sec. • ~ Historic War Eagle Mills ~ A fascinating and nostalgic historic site / nestled in the rolling Ozark hills of Northwest / Arkansas, War Eagle Mill is one of the most / picturesque places in the Natural State. I remember riding in the back of the truck, as my daddy took a load of corn to this mill to have it ground, and I remember all those hot pans of cornbread my momma used to cook with that huge pot of brown beans…...boy things have sure changed today!! / You can get a great bowl of beans while visiting this mill, they have a really great restaurant, but I have to say I do not think I have ever tasted a bean like my momma cooked. / BELOW PHOTOS CLICKABLE FOR YOU CONVENIENCE RIVER RAIN CLOUDS ON THE WATER, FIRE NEAR THE SKY TRANQUIL SERENITY GOLDEN DAZE

  • Part of the “Out of Place” series exploring the culture / nature divide – our alienation from nature. I find it perplexing just how easily we humans get mesmerised by work that is often intrinsically meaningless and the virtual world which seems mainly mired in trivia. It’s all the more strange when you consider that the bulk of humanity has only lived in cities for less than 100 years. Prior to that, for countless millennia the natural world was all we knew. / I spend hours in the Park and it’s interesting watching the way other people relate to it. For example, this set of falls is literally 1 minute off the main road through the Park. There are 3 sets of fall each more majestic than the one before. And yet the average amount of time that people spend here I’ve noticed is less than than 10 minutes. 10 minutes!! And then off home to get ready for work or to sit down and watch 4 hours of T.V. / I / just / don’t / get / it. / Still – one advantage – fewer people to bugger up my shots. / Anyway this is part of a series attempting to portray this collective psychosis of our species. Yes she is actually sitting there on top of a 30m waterfall – not photoshopped- very brave I thought, though we did take the wheels off the chair so she didn’t go sailing over.
