Took this on Stockton Bight, a long series of sand dunes that stretch from Anna Bay to Newcastle. These traps were placed to protect Williamtown air base (I believe) during World War II. 26km or so of these, 2m high concrete reinforced pyramids, and now all you can find is this small group, situated in a sand blow. Even they come and go depending on the wind. We took a tour from Anna bay, to see the tank traps, tin city and the wreck of the Sygma(?) Canon 10D / 17-40mmL Antelope Canyon is the most-visited and most-photographed slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land near Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon formed over the course of millions of years by erosion of the Navajo Sandstone, primarily due to flash flooding and secondarily due to wind erosion. Rainwater (especially during monsoon season) runs into the wash that Antelope Canyon is part of, picking up speed and sand as it rushes through the narrow passageways. Over time the passageways are eroded away, making the corridors wider and smoothing hard edges in such a way as to form characteristic ‘flowing’ shapes in the rock. Lower Antelope Canyon, called Hasdeztwazi, or “spiral rock arches” by the Navajo, is located a few kilometers away from the upper Antelope Canyon and is a more difficult hike. The Infinity Fountain Once more, standing alone in front of another memory, I harvest my thoughts from the infinity fountain ahead. The cycle repeats, as I find myself pulled away from the tedious life of today, feeling I could grab the source and remain there silently… / After one hour of search and 20 minutes waiting under a rock for the intense rain to stop, the skies finally opened to let the sun set in and show it’s strength. The beach was absolutely desert, and the next 30 minutes were made of pure photographic pleasure… I came home wet and cold, but my inside was warm and soothed… José Ramos

This has all the things wrong with it…lens flare being the major problem, but it illustrates why I ended up so so wet….they sneak up when you’re looking through the viewfinder. scream up the beach at a hundred miles an hour and slap you across the back….. You can also see the way the sky changed….Dicky dawn was shot before the sun came up, and those dark clouds were behind us….they moved over quite quickly as the sun rose. Britain’s Chief Scientist says it’s a bigger threat than global terrorism. / Every global warming sceptic is denounced as clinically insane. Every developed nation wags its finger at every other (well, ok then, at America) and tells it to Emit Less. Every politician and B-list celebrity now anxiously measures his or her carbon footprint. Every British schoolchild is now drilled to believe that man-made global warming is a Fact along with poverty and the existence of Belgium.
