  • I was out mowing the yard the other day and when I got to the far corner of the yard this bird started coming at the lawnmower. I stopped the mower and took a closer look and she had four eggs laying on the ground.

  • My purple finches are at it again, and today a construction worker took down my Boston Fern because it was in the way of his job. ... 6 little eggs in the tiny nest. But one appears very different… It is amazing that this little nest and the eggs survived wind gusts of 66mph a few hours ago. Our area had a fierce storm rip through. Trees and power lines were broken, but this fragile little nest with its treasures remained intact…

The male here is decked out in his finest regalia, his breeding plumage – his feathers only change to this vibrant shade of yellow during this season.

  • This mother sat alongside a jumble of goslings while her mate stood guard on the shore not very far from her.   • We had very much wasps in our garden and that’s not funny, folks! So we tried to find their nest, and found out it was made in a wooden sleeper in our yard. / We did everything to destroy these ‘devils’, but nothing worked. / At least we demolished the wooden sleeper, and so their nest too….
