Standard pose of the Green Tree Python
Scrub Python, growing to 15 feet these are the largest pythons in Australia. Amazing creatures, this one luckily remarkably placid. Copyright 2008 © Bullock Photos – www.bullockphotos.com
Discovered quite recently, these pythons are only found in the remote Kimberly area of Australia. They have some serious teeth and are lightning fast, but harmless. Copyright 2008 – Bullock Photos – www.bullockphotos.com
Love the pattern on this one.
The beautiful Green Python, start off as a magnificent yellow (Australian species) before undergoing a spectacular colour change and taking its adult colour of bright green.
Very large snake that will circle and crush its prey and then eat it. Unfortunately some of these snakes have been released in the wild in South Florida by people who purchase them as pets. They start getting too large, so they release them in the wild. The snakes re-produce and start eating the native wildlife endangering their existance. / Thanks so much Boban for the correct title of the snake.
amonst my garden is one of my friends the baby of the family / Attention RIP 20/10/08 Sydney was taken by our resident Butcher bird today Butch has two babies to feed … These wonderful green tree snakes are harmless and just quietly forage around for little insects and frogs to eat. / Taken at Godl coast S.E Qld / Camera Olympus c750 ouz Card suitable for birthday /greetings /children/or just to say hello . /
Shame the glass was filthy, gave me a good display! The Eastern Brown snake is the second most venemous snake in the world, and they like to show you who is boss! Mind you, just after this photo, the owner put his hand into his enclosure, and patted it on the head.. just nuts..
I have always loved snakes.
Snakes are reptiles, cold-blooded and requiring heat to bring them to an active stage. They are found around the world, except for the colder regions. There are about 2,500 species of the suborder Serpentes or Ophidia. About 10%, or 250 species are poisonous, but only half this number have sufficient venom, sharp enough fangs, or are large enough to threaten humans. They have flexible backbones, loosely connected jaws, and no legs or moveable eyelids. / Snakes or serpents were very early symbols of the Great Mother Goddesses, having dual spiritual meanings, even when shown singular: life and death, solar and lunar, good and evil, healing and poison. Because it sheds its skin, this creature became a symbol of reincarnation and immortality. The snake was considered to be the embodiment of all potentials of a physical, material and spiritual nature. This image was began in Apophysis and edited in Photoshop7. Serpentine Fire

This image was captured in Jupiter, Florida / This is an Eastern diamondback rattlesnake (Crotalus adamanteus) it is a pitviper species found in the southeastern United States. It is also the heaviest and largest of venomous snake in the Americas and the largest rattlesnake. Specimens over 7 feet (213 cm) are rare, but well documented. The color pattern consists of a brownish, brownish yellow, brownish gray or olive ground color, overlaid with a series of 24-35 dark brown to black diamonds with slightly lighter centres. Each of these diamond-shaped blotches is outlined with a row of cream or yellowish scales. In proportion to its length, it has the longest fangs of any rattlesnake species. These snakes forage actively or lie in ambush for small mammals, especially rabbits and rice rats. Their diet also includes birds. Prey is struck and released, after which they follow the scent trail left by the dying prey.
