The Tipton Place, Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, USA. Old wagon parked under the overhang of the double-cantilever barn at the Tipton Place. This type of barn was unique to this area of the country. Mountain runoff would often swamp the area under barns, damaging crops. The cantilever design allowed farmers to keep crops off the muddy ground, while at the same time providing shelter for livestock, and farming equipment.

I’ve really had fun with this shot of me… morphing it into a hodge-podge of different images… Being a July 4th baby from the U.S… Couldn’t resist dabbling in my native home colors of red, white, and blue. Eventually, I’ll stop morphing this same shot… I just love the way they all end up being similar… yet very different.

The names “Radio City” and “Radio City Music Hall” derive from one of the complex’s first tenants, the Radio Corporation of America. Radio City Music Hall was a project of Rockefeller; Samuel Roxy Rothafel, who previously opened the Roxy Theatre in 1927; and RCA chairman David Sarnoff. RCA had developed numerous studios for NBC at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, just to the south of the Music Hall, and the radio-TV complex that lent the Music Hall its name is still known as the NBC Radio City Studios. The Music Hall Christmas show, a New York Christmas tradition since 1933, has been revived as an all live spectacular show featuring the women’s precision dance team known as The Rockettes and is performed every year during the holidays.

Bryce Canyon is well-known for very vivid colors and it is not too often that you see a black and white photograph of it. Although this image turned out fine in color, I converted it to black and white to find that the whites in many of the hoodoo formations stood out well, adding a totally different perspective to the landscape. The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a bird of prey found in North America that is most recognizable as the national bird and symbol of the United States of America. This sea eagle has two known sub-species and forms a species pair with the White-tailed Eagle. Its range includes most of Canada and Alaska, all of the contiguous United States and northern Mexico. It is found near large bodies of open water with an abundant food supply and old-growth trees for nesting. The fractalius filter was added to this image to fine tune it, both for saturation and detail.
